Looks great but be prepared to spend
The truck looks great and drives great but we have had so many mechanical issues! Everything from the batteries to the fuel lines and the alternator and the water pump injector you name it we've had to fix it! We have only had the truck a year and have already put about $18,000 into the truck

Take care of the vehicle. If not taken care of it will give you problems.
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. It has been modified with a lift & big tires. So it makes my ride a little rough. But I have had the same truck in the past & it was overall a comfortable ride. It is very roomy & spacious. Not bad gas mileage. It is very reliable if well taken care of.

Big truck, small lady, mixture of disaster.
My truck is a lifted truck. It has a two inch lift. I am petite, so when it is a challenge for me to get into my truck. I drive it daily to and from work as well as on little trips. I spend on average like $100 on gas a week. It is a gas guzzler and I do hate that. But that is probably because it has 8 cylinders. So far it seems to be really reliable. I bought the truck from the a dealer back in may as used. Just once the water pump gave out but that was an easy fix for my uncle.

Chevy transmission should have a recall.
The Chevy 2500hd is a great work truck, but it has some issues that seem to happen to a lot of the Chevys from this year. Its comfortable to drive. Has more than enough power to pull heavy loads. But there are issues with the transmission and brake system, issues I was not expecting.

The Chevy Silverado is a great truck
The truck I have is great and reliable. It also is a performance beast with a 6.6 Diesel engine. I love it.

Being a 4x4 truck and being a bigger truck you don't get good gas mileage.
We have had the truck for over 10 years and it still runs like new. The worst about it is the body had rust out a lot which does is common for Chevy. But it is very dependable.
accountCircle Marie M on August 8, 2020
The truck is basically brand new as far as the mechanical stuff.
We have had several problems with this truck. We have replaced the transmission, the water pump twice, the oil pump, the entire engine, the head gaskets, it has a boost leak now, we've also replaced the turbo and the injectors too but it has never left us stranded in the side of the road.

Tough truck worth buying built well and strong
Great truck good pulling power plenty of power transmission is tough the truck is built very well and I am very pleased with the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd the only thing I have done to this pickup was changing brakes on it i have owned it going on 4 years now and has 180,000 miles on it i recommend this pickup

This is the most dependable vehicle i have ever owned.
I purchased this truck used. I have never had significant problems and she has NEVER let me down. The ride is comfortable and gas mileage is fairly good.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
I have not had any problems as of yet. I love the dependability and performance of my truck. The diesel engine provides enough power to tow, haul and move anything I have to at work. As a machine operator I often have to move mini excavators and skid steers. The duramax pulls these with ease. It is comfortable to drive and feels really stable when hauling a trailer with a load. It gives me confidence that it will pull through. It is got ample space in the bed for any attachments or cargo. It looks great as well. Definitely recommend the Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd with the duramax if you are towing anything.

That even after almost 250,000 miles it runs fantastic!
I like my Chevy truck because it is 13 years old, has 225,000 miles and runs great. It is heavy duty has a winch a diesel extra tank in bed of it. Rugged, reliable.

It's made to work hard and tow.
I love it's towing ability. I can trailer my kids horses to any horse show they want to go too and can rely on the truck to get us there.

It is big and is not the best on fuel.
I love the room that it offers. I love the power and versatility. I love the smooth ride and comfortable interior.

Trustworthy and roughly awesome.
Not many problems even at two hundred and fifty thousand miles the only problems seem to be with the sensors. And I have had to replace the radiator recently and had factory tires up until last year. Other than that it has held up for me completely not to much bad things to say about it Chevy makes a good truck.

2005 Reliable Heavy duty truck. Will haul whatever you want to haul.
It is a 2005 Chevy 2500 Hd 4x4 Pickup w/ extended cab. Metallic midnight blue paint and charcoal interior. Has trailer brakes the bed is rhino lined and has a gooseneck and bumper hitch. Under 200,000. Miles. This is a reliable truck that has been well maintained w/ no mechanical issues. This truck gets about 12 miles to the gallon. This is a gas vehicle.

Does not get spectacular fuel mileage.
I own a 2005 Chevrolet 2500hd Duramax diesel, it is a very reliable vehicle that has never left me stranded! Luxurious leather interior with bucket seats that you may even mistake as your own personal couch. This model of truck come stock with a trusty 305whp and an automatic 5 speed Allison 1000 transmission that shifts thru the gears like butter,
accountCircle Helen M on August 31, 2019
The Allison transmission is important for dependability and ease of towing.
Very comfortable large cab. Very dependable give us zero trouble. We pull a fifth wheel and a boat and it does this with ease.
accountCircle Michael M on August 29, 2019
It is four wheel drive and it is a diesel.
Leaky roof, starting to rust. Wheel bearing is starting to make noise. I replaced the turbo and fuel injectors.
accountCircle robert c on August 16, 2019
It will roll an awesome amount of coal! So don't be tailgating me.
It's a chevy Duramax diesel. I love it! The only thing I would change is the fact that it has a "limp mode,"
accountCircle Hart K on August 12, 2019
Best truck . The extended cab is very nice it has great leg room.
The truck has a duramax v8 engine. It takes diesel fuel which on the average cost about $1.00 more than regular gasoline. Diesel trucks runs louder than gasoline vehicles. The loudness will take some getting used to. It is so loud that when you go through a drive-thru service it's best to turn the truck off so that the person can hear you and you can hear them. The tires for this truck runs about $120.00 per tire. It takes two batteries to run the truck. The truck sits high which is very nice, I didn't know what I was missing because up on till then I drove small cars. During the winter months if the temps get really low, then you should plug in the batteries this will help to keep the diesel fuel from freezing up. The fuel is much thicker than gasoline so it is best to use the plug it in on severe cold weather days and nights. Over all I am very pleased with this truck.
accountCircle Kent N on July 3, 2019
Well made, dependable, easy to drive.
I like the 8.1 liter engine, 6-speed manual transmission, and 3/4 ton carrying capacity. I dislike the difficulty parking.
accountCircle Roderick P on June 11, 2019
Things not to buy when looking for a truck.
Too many miles on the truck. Its need a gearbox. Sometimes its slow to start up. But it's really not a bad truck. You just have to keep it up. But for the mileage on the truck, it still a nice looking though. If your in the market for one of these I highly recommend a silver 2500.

I take pride it everything i have
I love my Diesel well because it is a diesel. Only downfall is the head gaskets are blown at this time.
accountCircle Reese N on May 9, 2019
It has very spacious seating. Comfortably seats 6 people. The only thing that slightly sucks is there are no cd/cassette/aux options without buying a new stereo.
My truck is fantastic! I'm the second owner and the person I got it from took great care of it! I'm traveling and it carries a camper in the bed of it with ease up hills and mountains.
accountCircle Ole F on April 25, 2019
My likes of my truck, and what I want to do!
I like the power of the duo max engine. I like the fuel mileage that it gets. I would like to chip the engine to get a little more performance out of it, but haven't had that done yet.
accountCircle charles p on February 26, 2019
It is very reliable. It's over 10 years old and I have no problems.
I use my truck for work. It has been a very reliable vehicle. I have been very happy with this vehicle.
accountCircle Kara C on February 25, 2019
Expensive when it comes to gas
It's a nice car. The only issue I really have with it is that it is a gas guzzler. We spend almost 25 dollar a day on gas.
accountCircle Tyler T on January 29, 2019
If u get one but a bigger turbo on it.
It is been a good truck for me not a lot problems out of it I have done lots of performance upgrades to it bigger turbo on it tuning aftermarket air system. Etc. Pulls my camper without a problem. The only thing that has gave me fits in my front end has went out twice.
accountCircle Ray C on December 25, 2018
My truck is very dependable, i haven't had any issues with her.
I love my truck. She has a few problems but she is old just like her owner. She has a few dings in her ,some rust, and needs some work.

2500 Chevy truck, the truck that is built to last.
Love it but the interior fabrics come off. And cloth seats don't last. The engine and parts of the truck are great. Only thing I've changed is a water pump. Other than that haven't had any issues. It pulls the trailers and tractors very well. I've enjoyed every part of this truck.
accountCircle Jon C on November 28, 2018
It likes to use fuel with a small fuel tank. I get 7-8 miles to the gallon when towing and the gas tank is 26 gallons. Not a far range.
The truck is strong enough to pull my camper. Wish it had a little more power and a bigger fuel tank. Has been a great vehicle for 6 years that i have owned it. Very comfortable and does some good work.
accountCircle Nancy S on November 19, 2018

I really like the interior of my truck, it is basic vinyl and easy to clean. I like the easy to operate heater air conditioner. I like the easy keep interior.
