4dr, Silver SUV w/cruise control that is great on gas.

Silver, 4dr SUV that I found to be a reliable daily driver. Good on gas, typically taking 20$ to fill up from 1/2 a tank. Cloth seats that stayed warm in the winter and cool in spring/summer. Has cruise control, power windows, multi-disc CD player, two 12v adaptors, and is equipped with anti-theft. The back opens up two ways - just the window and the whole door with separate handles for both. The trunk is very roomy, and even has a cover to hide anything you put back there and leave it. Unfortunately, it is not removable so if you have anything large you want to put back there, it makes it difficult to work around sometimes. Only issue I have with it is the back windshield wiper is so small that it clears off just a tiny spot that it is almost useless, and I don't like that the car alarm doesn't go off when someone pulls the handle while it is on - it apparently will only go off after it has already been broken into which I find kind of silly.

2005 Silver Ford Escape Review

When I first bought my Escape, the cruise control did not work. With an easy, inexpensive fix, the cruise control now works. Shortly after I purchased my Escape, the check engine light came on and it has been looked at multiple times. The answer we got was that there was just an issue with the computer and it was not actually an engine problem, luckily! I love the amount of space the Escape has, too. There is plenty of trunk space and there is also plenty of space in the back seats and the front seats. Since it doesn't have and aux or Bluetooth set up, I was able to buy an aux adapter that plugs into the cassette, which works great! This vehicle also comes with automatic 4 wheel drive. I am not able to turn on the 4 wheel drive, but it automatically kicks in when it is needed. I have never had issues driving in the Wisconsin snow!

An amazingly unique little SUV.

Overall the escape has been a good vehicle. The Escape drives a very good riding vehicle. The four wheel drive work good but I would rather engage the 4 wheel drive rather then the computer. The v6 engine is great no problem throughout the years. The two major problems I had with the car was the transmission & the differentials went out to so the cost on all of that was about 6,500. 00 dollars. I have been rear ended about five times & overall it is held up really great because I have been hit hard no major frame damage the bumper, tail lights & mufflers have had to be replaced on every one. I have had a couple of crack windshields that had to be replaced. I have taken a lot of care with the car making sure it clean, wash, engine is clean. The Escape has been a great small SUV. I have enjoyed the vehicle.

Longevity, comfort, and reliability.

I love my Ford Escape. It is 13 years old with over 230,000 miles and still going. I feel comfortable and safe in my car. It has AWD, which has been amazing during New England winters. I have had relatively few problems considering the age of the car. The radio is probably the biggest annoyance. It is the original radio and when you turn the volume up or down it will sometimes blast very loud. The exhaust pipe did rust and fall off last year, but was repaired. There are some spots of rust, but very minor. I enjoy the leather seats. I had seat warmers installed, so that was an upgrade worth paying for. I enjoy the way the car handles. It is so smooth. It also has a nice quick acceleration.

Smooth running Ford Escape.

This is my first car and I truly love it! Of course its had its share of problems but most used cars do. I would say the most common problem I have had is with the spark plugs. Other than that it's been a great vehicle. It's gotten me back and forth from college for the last three years and continues to run smoothly. Out of the four cars in my family it is the second oldest but runs the smoothest. It's very comfortable to drive and the size is perfect for a young driver or college student who is moving in and out of apartments. The only flaw would be that it could do a little better on gas.

Overall, the price to maintain and fix the car is not worth it.

There are a lot of problems with the car. It has 3 oil leaks, the drivers side mirror broke and can not be used. On top of that the lining of the car is falling apart. The fabric is peeling from the roof, the vinyl is peeling from the doors. The gas mileage is terrible. I get probably around 15-16 mpg. I have to fill up at least once a week if not twice. With the price of gas the car is just too expensive. As for the positives, the car handles pretty well. It accelerates easily and drives smoothly. The car is easy to sleeping for long trips and can transport quite a bit as well.

2005 ford escape hybrid - amazing fuel economy!

This models all wheel drive works for off road, but is best on-road. Despite its added weight, it gets wonderful gas mileage and its hybrid model saves even more money and is better on the environment. It is very easy to handle and drives smoothly. Its engine is very quiet and has an alright amount of power. The interior is nice and roomy, with the back seats down there is tons of space for moving. The safety features are great, and even after an accident the car took very little damage. For the price range, this vehicle is a great choice, especially for families.

2005 Ford Escape v6. Power windows, locks. Roomy. R & p steering. Disc brakes.

Its a 2005 Ford Escape 4 door small SUV. It has a v6 engine that has a bit of get up and go for times when it is needed. It has rear window defogger and electric windows and locks. I haven't had problems with it and it is good on gas, getting about 20-25 a gal depending on how it is getting driven. It has rack & pinion steering and handles nicely in the turns when taking those mountain roads going camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. A party of 4 will ride very comfortably in this car with enough room for most luggage, definitely if you use the racks.

- Michael B

Roomy reliable small SUV.

My tan 2005 ford escape is the best vehicles I have ever owned. It has 4 wheel drive and all the room of a bigger SUV but is still small enough it does not use a lot of gas. The 6 CD changer is great for long trips and the sunroof is perfect for the lovely spring days. The pm the steering wheel controls for cruise control os convenient and safer option. The downside is there is a significant rusty area under gas tank which seems to be common for year and model. The plastic on bumper and down the sides fades and cracks if you don't regularly keep oiled up.

Great all around vehicle.

I do a lot of camping. My 3. 1 V6 4 wheel drive takes me everywhere I want to go. I love that the back seats fold down flat to accommodate all of my gear. The adjustable roof racks hold my kayak securely. With cruise control and sun roof that can be vented or fully opened, cruising the interstates is a joy. Fully equipped with ac, manual overdrive and theater lighting this Ford Escape Exalt is a great car. I have had some mechanical issues with the Escape. But, honestly, I fault the mechanics and myself for all issues, not the Escape.

- Bette W

The good part is the car is still in good condition.

My car was bought from my mother. She did not drive it much at all. When she quit driving I told her I would buy it. She had 50000 miles on it I have had it for 3 yrs. And I have put another 10000 miles on it. I do not drive it much either only to the store and the doctor. The car does not have a scratch on it so I have a car with a 6yr. Old motor and a 13 yr 4. Old body. Thanks. I have it detailed every 6 mos. . I keep it looking good. Does not use much gas it is a 4 cylinder, I will not get rid of it until I have to.

- Martha P

It's a beast. It gets around very well, especially in rough terrain.

This vehicle has been amazing for the short time we've had it. It did excellent last winter. Winter up here in upper Michigan is rough and our Ford Escape has 4 wheel drive so it got around awesome! Unfortunately it has been having some issues. The rear driveshaft was coming apart and going into the gas tank. One small bump and the vehicle could catch on fire but we got that part repaired. It still is having some issues, but we will continue to drive it as long as we can. I don't think it will last more than 6 months.

- Candra S

One word to describe the vehicle: reliable.

I have had issues with the exhaust system since purchasing a few years ago. However this truck is still running like a champ in spite of the issues going on with it. The gas mileage is better than most SUVs in its class. The interior leather paneling has came unstuck I guess the glue melted from the heat and I've had problems getting it to stay back up on the doors. The safety features are very good for my children with child locks on doors anchors for car seats. I am well over 200K miles and still cruising.

- Heather S

The 2005 Ford Escape Limited is stylish and roomy. With heated seats and a sun roof, it's perfect for a road trip or a run to football field. The back seats lie down for extra storage. The V6 has plenty of "get up and go" with gas mileage about 19 mpg in city.

The Ford Escape Limited is roomy enough to lug around my family to practice and out and about. It has a stylish black leather interior with matching black carpet. With my vehicle having 185,000 miles on it, I've had to replace the radiator hoses and a belt or two. Recently, the blower motor went out in my truck so the air does not come out of the vents at all. The back passenger side shock tower will need to be replaced soon due to severe rusting. Which is an expensive fix at the stage it's at.

2005 Ford Escape-Bought Used. Reliable and Safe as long as upkeep is maintained.

I bought my car used in 2016. After some minor repairs, such as a constant oil smell, it ran very reliably for 2 years. I had a 20 minute commute to work, and the gas mileage on the highway was reasonable. I also felt very safe travelling with my children, due to the size and safety reviews. General upkeep was minimum until an issue started where it stalls at stop signs/lights and sometimes dies. This is still being worked on. I would recommend this vehicle if you have a trustworthy mechanic.

- Jenna W

A great and safe family car.

There are many different things I love about my 2005 ford escape. Extremely reliable, safety to me is number one and I feel very safe in this truck. Perfect size for city driving as well as suburban driving. Easy to handle, easy to parallel park, fits in tight spaces. I love the feature which includes a fantastic sunroof. I also love it in winter. Especially in chicago winters, the four wheel drive is one hundred percent necessary. Great truck all around for one person or a small family.

- Stephanie C

My 2005 ford escape AWD has 200k miles on it and still runs like it is new.

This is an all around great SUV for an individual or family. It is all-time four wheel drive which is good during the winter. It is very comfortable to drive around town, on dirt roads or on long trips. . My escape has just over 200,000 miles on it and the engine and transmission are still very strong. I trust it and will continue to drive it until I cannot anymore. . The only problem I have had with my escape is that I have to replace the wheel bearings and hub assemblies quite often.

- Crystal D

2005 Ford Escape xlt: green.

Many Escapes have these issues but I have had to replace the following: coil packs, computer, and keys. Now my idol level is too low I think so while I am driving it shuts off whenever it wants to. But I absolutely love my Escape. I love the size of it. You feel very safe with the extra room around you plus being a little higher in the air helps a lot. Since Escapes are taller they do have the potential to roll over if you take turns too fast but that's with any taller vehicle.

- Emily A

Safety features of this vehicle include automatic door locks which engage when the vehicle is in motion.

The Ford Escape is a great mid-sized SUV. The design of the vehicle is modern and not over-the-top which I appreciate. It can comfortably seat five passengers and has a lot of legroom. It's also a safe vehicle. The automatic door locks engage when the vehicle is in motion. It has a smooth drive and handles well. The storage "trunk" in the rear of the vehicle is roomy. It will hold everything you need for a day at the beach or all of your groceries when you've been shopping.

Multipurpose SUV for a family of 2

My 2005 Ford Escape Limited is the perfect little SUV for my little family. It's dependable, gets great gas mileage (considering it's age), and is the perfect size for all of our many adventures. I plan on driving this vehicle until the wheels fall off! It's small enough that it fits into tight spaces and feels much like driving a car but is large enough to carry luggage when traveling, ball equipment during baseball season, and I've even transported furniture!

- Shelby T

It's a pretty car but your going to end up needing to put some money into it..

Our car was a flood car so it's had many problems. Rust, new motor, hard to get to places with such a compact car. It's a very pretty car and I love the sun roof. It's got an okay stereo. The automatic drivers seat is very nice. I wish the passenger side was also automatic, but I believe that's due to the flood(changing the original seats). We've recently had an overheating problem too that we have not yet found the answer to. I love all the room in the back.

- Ashley S

Reliable and heavy duty. Not to bad on gas either.

I bought this car used about 5 years ago. It has worked very well for me. I believe this Escape was more in the truck line vs. The crossover. It is very study, 6 cylinder but not a gas guzzler. There might be an issue with the a/c in these cars. However, I have only had to do routine repairs. I enjoy sitting higher in the car. Fairly comfortable. The vehicle is 13 years old so some of the interior is quite worn. Still I will drive as long as I can.

Journey with my Ford Escape!

Love my car. Performance is great. For being a 2005 vehicle the features that it comes with are pretty advanced. It has a sunroof, seat warmers, and has a screen that displays your miles to empty and oil percentage remaining on vehicle. Nice comfortable leather interior and super spacious plus it's 4WD. My only problem, well not so much problem but minor complaint I have about my vehicle would be that it's only CD player and am,FM radio.

- Maria M

Very spacious and dependable.

I love the SUV style, would not go back to sedan style vehicle. For older people much easier to get in an out of. Has a sunroof which is very important to me. You can enjoy the air and everything is not blowing around or the air is not bothering passengers in backseat. Rides very nice. No obstructions looking out front window, very open. Plenty of room in backseat which lays down to make more hauling area. All around great vehicle.

- Kathy S

I like the fog lights that my car has and the reliable air conditioner.

This is a great car, it gets me where I need to go. I can go to the beach and I can go to the snow in the same day and my car can get me there. It is very roomy, I have slept in it on multiple camping trips and have done just fine. It is comfortable to drive, I am short and I enjoy that I feel high up off the ground. It is a very reliable car, I drive often and far and it has never given me any problems. It really is a great car.

- Lindsay C

I love the size- it's small enough to squeeze into almost any car space.

The things I love most about my vehicle are that it heats and cools quickly which really helps when I am running late in the mornings. The other thing that I really enjoy is that it is the perfect size especially when I am pulling around the drive-thru for a restaurant, or driving through crowded parking lots. It is perfect when I am dressed in skirts or dresses and heels allowing me to slip easily in and out of my car.

- Christie F

While there have been minor setbacks, my Escape has always been there!

I have a 2005 Ford Escape. While I love the size of the vehicle and it fits our family perfectly, I have experienced quite a few mechanical problems. I have had transmission problems off and on as well as other small mechanical problems but overall it has kept me from point A to B. The gas mileage on the highway is good but the mpg per city isn't the best. The Escape overall if well taken care of is a great vehicle.

- Kimberly L

A nice gramma's car. Not your normal gramma car.

One thing that I have had problems with is the alternator, I have replaced it twice. I like the roominess, the fact that I can fit two car seats and a third child in the backseat. I can fit a lot of stuff in the back when I go camping, shopping, etc. I wouldn't mind having a different color, there needs to be more colors to choose from. Even though it is only a four speed it still does have some get up and go.

- Cindy D

My Emmy. A 2005 Ford Escape.

This vehicle performs great. I haven't had any major problem with it since I have bought it. It is a nice comfortable ride with the space to move bigger things in. Gets great gas mileage. I have taken it on wet streets and it handled great. I have even taken it on a 4 wheeler trail in the woods with no problem. It is the vehicle I drive to my jobs out of town and I consider it a safe and comfortable ride.

- Diane T

2005 ford escape review - good for the most part.

I like this car for the most part. The lock system does not work well and it is needed a lot of work but it is lasted me a long time given the low cost of it. The drive is not the smoothest but I have found that the vehicle works well in all types of weather and is powerful enough to not get stuck in a lot of snow or mud. I like the size and space of the car, not too big but also bigger than a car.

- Mary B

Even with issues it is still a winner.

I have a bad catalytic converter. It is causing my vehicle to run very rough and also making my car have very poor fuel economy. It also has an issue with a sensors that is making both the alarm and the door sensors trigger randomly. These issues are present because the vehicle had been in an accident prior to me purchasing it used. Other than those issues the vehicle is very reliable fun to drive.

- Lori B

Compact SUV for everyday use.

I love my Ford Escape. It is a good size, not too big and not too small but has plenty of cargo space. It is pretty good on gas, especially when compared to larger SUV's. It has nice features, a roof rack, power windows and locks, etc. The rear seats split and fold down independently so that you can have large cargo items and still have a passenger in the back seat. It has automatic 4 wheel drive.

- Laura M

2005 Ford Escape: old faithful.

My 2005 Ford Escape is incredibly reliable. I rarely see the check engine light, if it ever comes on it is only for minor issues like the o2 sensor. These issues eventually right themselves. It runs totally fine and accelerates very smoothly. It is solid on gas mileage and is capable of running at high speeds. The leather interior has held up well and I would recommend this car to any one!

- Noah S

It drives like a go cart. It's really fast and you don't really notice it.

I bought my vehicle used so I'll try not to judge based on that. I don't like where the cupholders are, they are between the seats with the back holder under the console storage, so placing two cups in difficult. I also don't like that my suv has rear drum brakes. I assumed that all newer vehicles had disc brakes. I guess it really isn't too much of an issue but it bothers me.

- Lindsay A

2005 ford escape. This is a SUV and easy to drive in and out of traffic.

I find my vehicle hard to steer because I recently broke both shoulders. I did not have a problem prior to then. I find my vehicle just the right size for me, it is comfortable and reliable. It has all the features I need such as remote control side mirror controls, fog lights, abs brakes. I use a rollator for mobility and it fits easily in the storage area behind the seats.

- Constance M

The ups and Downs of having a vehicle that is over 10 yrs old.

Very dependable, good on gas and is overall fun to drive. Taking into consideration that my Escape is 12 yrs old it is in good shape. The only problems it has are as follows... the rear wiper doesn't work, the passenger side front window motor needs replaced , the stereo needs upgrading, and she burns a little oil on long trips. Other than that I am grateful for my vehicle.

- Scott M

2005 Ford Escape XLT review.

I really love my car! It is the perfect size for me, I am a full time college student and it is not too big or too small. My dad is a mechanic so he has had to fix a few things but it is a good car. He's fixed some rust, the steering stabilizer, the power windows, and the wheel axial. I find it to be very reliable as long as you take good care and keep up on maintenance.

- Emily O

The Ford Escape is a great family car. The car is spacious and very comfortable.

The Ford Escape is a great family vehicle. All wheel drive is a great feature of this car. It is good for going off-road in some occasions. The braking system is great! 6 CD changer is a good feature. Gas mileage isn't the best. The car is very spacious and can comfortably fit 3 in back and 2 in front. The very back of the car is roomy and can fit 2 big dogs if needed.

- Allie J

Compact SUV great for a small family.

The seats are not very comfortable on long rides. It is very noisy as if a window is always open. It rides more like an off road jeep than an SUV and there is not a lot of room. Performance wise it is okay. Not much power especially up hills. It is been reliable so far for it is age. It is great if you want a small SUV that is good on gas and you do not go away often.

- Jen L

The interior noise can be irritating.

I generally enjoy driving my car except that the interior noise is a bit much. It has a very responsive 6 cylinder and is comfortable other than the noise. I did have to have the ignition coil replace at about 120, 000 miles and recently had to have carbon build up dealt with but I do not drive it very much, comparatively speaking, and do not put a lot of miles on it.

- Barbara F

Smaller SUV, big on space.

I love that it is an SUV, but not overly sized, so it is easy to drive and has good cargo space. It has enough features to make life easier, but not overly loaded with features I do not need. I love the split rear folding seats, so I can keep one side down for my dog to pass between the back seat and the rear cargo area, while a person can also sit in the back seat.

- Lilly M

One customer's opinion on the Ford Escape xlt all wheel drive.

It is reliable transportation and I will let you know that it may not be the best one to get if you are interested in saying on gas money between check's, mine is a all wheel drive and that is like driving a four wheel drive locked in all the time, it is a good running automobiles with great performance when needed, well maintained it is the most dependable vehicle.

- Rodger H

Satisfaction with the 2005 Escape model SUV.

I love the space and cargo capacity. It is a very comfortable car. There is plenty of legroom in the front; especially important as I am a tall person. I have not experienced any major trouble with engine or trans - beyond the common wear and tear that comes with age and use. The SUV is also very good on gas and mileage. I am very satisfied with the Escape model.

- Dominique D

There is a lot of room inside the vehicle. The back seats fold down easily.

My car leaks oil so oil has to be added every few weeks. It drives well for being an older car. It gets pretty good gas mileage. There is starting to be rust around both rear tire wells. The interior has held up well; it has endured many children and dogs and still there are no tears or rips. I would recommend this vehicle to someone looking to buy a car.

- Amanda M

That it is a good comfortable and dependable car.

It is been a decent car but it has 200, 000 miles on it and is getting tired. It seems to go through gas quite often I suppose in part because it is only a 12 or 13 gallon tank. Overall it is a good car the v6 has plenty of power and is capable of pulling a medium weight trailer such as a pop up camper. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a small SUV.

- Marc P

2005 Ford Escape; reliable and trustworthy.

Despite being a 2005, the Ford Escape has been very reliable. It has needed barely any repairs and has held up nicely. There is some paint peeling off of the front hood of the car and it is now very loud, almost as if you can hear the tires hitting the pavement. Vibration noises. The interior of the car has also held up very nicely and is very easy to clean.

- Morgan B

I would most definitely buy another Escape!

Have not had any problems. I have only had to do general maintenance (brakes, tires etc. ) Due to vehicle age. It is extremely comfortable and has plenty of room for transport. It has been reliable for 13 years and I would not hesitate to buy another ford. My only complaint is the gas mileage - I currently get approx. 16 mpg, and most of my driving is city.

- Nancy C

My favorite thing about my car would be the reliability of the 4wd.

I absolutely love my car and would recommend it to anyone. It has done well performance wise, it is always very reliable and has never let me down. It is very comfortable and roomy. The only thing I think I would say as far as features go, is that not having a auxiliary plug in stinks but we have found ways around it. The 4 wheel drive is amazing as well.

- Elizabeth J

Has a sunroof, lots of storage in the back and fold down back seats.

It has been a good long lasting vehicle for me. Bought it used and have had it 10 years. . Not many problems over the years - I take really good care of it. Recently had a new steering pump installed. Interior has held up well - vinyl seats. The headliner has started to come loose in a couple of spots in the front.. Runs a little rough in cold weather.

- Jackie G

The best yet. One of a kind SUV. Reliable . Comfortable . Great mileage.

Love my ford escape. Very reliable. All four wheel drive. The ford escape limited edition is perfect for anyone who has family. It may look small but it actually fits a lot of stuff in it. I love how the seats unfold and lay down. I've never had a problem with it. Seeing as how, its 2019, and my vehicle is 2005, we can believe it is a reliable vehicle.

- Anne B

Ford Escape 2005, silver exterior and grey interior, automatic transmission.

The Ford Escape is a reliable car to get place to place. My Ford is starting to wear down and not work as good as when it was brand new. Like when driving the transmission sticks. And I have to duck tape somethings together to make the car run. It is 9 years old or more since I have gotten this car. But I can always count on my car for transportation.

- Hannah S

High up and I can see the road.

The car is great but the transmission is shot so I need a new one. Love how I can see from a high up vehicle. The vehicle was a replacement for my 07 Ford Escape that died in an accident and does not have the same bells and whistles that the 07 had but it does get me from point A to point Be although not so much anymore because of the transmission.

- Megan M

If buying used, this is a great value overall! Runs dependably, roomy feel inside and easy to drive.

I don't care for the body style particularly or the color of my particular vehicle. The gas mileage seems a little high to me for the vehicle size. I love the comfort of the interior, it feels like there is a lot of space and the cargo room in the back. I have had some issues with the coolant system but other than that it's stayed running well.

- Melissa S

Enjoy the drive in a Ford Escape.

The ability to carry large items in the lift back, the seats are comfortable and easy to get in and out without sitting to low. I like being able to sit higher while driving. The gas mileage is not as much as a bigger SUV yet we have most of the advantages, I like being able to lay all or a section of the back seats down for more hauling space.

- Ron Kay B

It's the best choice I have ever made in all the cars I have bought!!

I love my Ford Escape, especially in the winter weather because of the way it handles the ice and snow!! The step rail makes it really easy to get in and out of the car! I also love the moon roof because of the extra light and the air flow when it is open! Plus it runs better than any other car I have owned and it has over 150,000 miles on it!!

- Betty N

Small but gets you where you need to go.

The Escape gets good gas mileage. It is not a highway vehicle because it is a 4 cylinder. Seats are not comfy for long drives. Looks sporty with the running boards. Can not lock the doors because there is a short in the alarm system. Overall it is a good vehicle for in town driving and during winter months because it is four wheel drive.

- Rhonda B

Total quality. A car that needs only routine maintenance.

No problems. Very reliable vehicle. If the new models are of equal quality I would not hesitate to buy another one when I replace this one. The only things I have had to do are replace belts, hoses, tires and brakes. No other problems. The ride is comfortable and by this being a small SUV I am able to see the road ahead more clearly.

- Karen M

It has a lot of room and it is reliable.

It makes a noise when you hit the breaks. It needs new tires. It is a reliable car. It gets us from point A to B. It is comfortable and a awesome color of red. I love the sunroof. It needs a oil change. It has over 150, 000 miles on it. I has the perfect amount of room for out family. You can take the seats out for more trunk room.

- Ashleigh G

Great in snow... bad on gas

I like my Ford Escape. It is very reliable. And very roomy. If you put the back seats down, you can fit a lot of things in the Escape. And I feel comfortable driving in snowy weather. The gas mileage on the 2005 Ford Escape is not great, though. And the drivers side seat can get a little uncomfortable when driving on long trips.

- Vicki K

Ford Escape is a great starter car!

I have had this car for 6+ years and have loved it. The only two problems I've had is that the acceleration is a little slow and there are rust spots on the back right over the tires. When I look at reviews it seems like a lot of Ford Escapes rust in this same area. Other than that it has always been comfortable and reliable.

- Katie L

Great sized vehicle handles nicely.

I constantly have issues with heating and cooling. Always a lot of brake dust when replaced. Had to replace the transmission after 3 years. Front end is always going out of alignment. Other than the mechanicals problems I have it is a well driving car. I have had to replace a lot of stuff just 3 years after ownership.

- Pauline F

Motor vehicles great on gas it looks nice and I keep it clean.

It is very reliable I love it but the check engine light is coming on all the time. My favorite thing is going for long drives. The reverse is out on it sadly. My car is blue which I like a lot. Performance is amazing I love to drive around with it other than that I put the check engine light keeps coming on all the time.

- Shannon N

Sturdy framework and affordability.

It is very comfortable and there are no mechanical problems. My vehicle is reliable and there is a lot of storage room. This vehicle is great for road trips. One of the fun things I love about my vehicle is that the kids love it for the back room cause when we travel they love to throw a blanket in the back and sing away.

- Kw W

This vehicle will not fail.

This has been a very reliable car, and I love it. I haven't really had any problems with it in the 14 years I have owned it, and I plan to keep it for another several years. It is been low maintenance. My only complaints would be that it is not a very comfortable car, but for a small SUV I hadn't been looking for comfort.

- Jennifer G

I like most of all how the trunk is so spacious.

I love how much room it has in it. I don't like how rough it drives when going over bumps. It gets pretty good gas mileage. If I gas up I can go just about a week on a full tank depending on how far I drive. I love how the trunk is spacious and has a flap so I can cover up the back if I want to put something back there.

- Heather P

Blue 2005 Ford Escape 6 cylinder.

As a 2005 vehicle, it's getting older however I've loved it since I've owned it. Getting up to 200,000 miles with minimal problems, just casual wear and tear. I love the look of the car, as it's more boxy than most SUVs out there at the moment. I know that it's getting older so I am looking into the newer ford escapes.

- Marissa P

Reliable comfortable and utilitarian

My Ford Escape has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Bought it with 60,000 miles on it now has 150, 000 miles and no major repairs. Great in snow and ice here in the northeast. Comfortable ride have done many long road trips in it. Has ample room to carry stuff and seats fold down easily to accommodate.

- Ron E

The Ford Escape is a comfortable car, very stylish, love the all wheel drive.

Great vehicle. We own a 2nd, newer model Ford Escape. Dependable, reliable, Will continue to own a Ford Escape as long as they make them. Very much like the body style, how it handles in the snow, the comfort of the vehicle. Have never had any major repairs needed to either vehicle. Gets good gas mileage.

- Tammy T

The Hybrid Ford Escape is quiet and the hybrid kicks on going 20 MPH and under.

The MPG in the Ford Escape is okay, I get approximately 19-23 MPG. It's extremely reliable and rarely have to get any maintenance. The 2005 Ford Escape drives okay but not comparable to newer cars. I would say the 2005 Ford Escape is the perfect car for new drivers; easy to drive, reliable, and a huge money saver.

- Amaya T

Great car made in USA, buy American.

This has been a very reliable vehicle. Bought it new and have had no trouble for the last 13 years. It gets good gas mileage and has a smooth ride. I would buy this model again. The only problem I have had with this car is the phantom panic alarm. It will go off at random for no reason. I have never had it fixed.

- Diane F

For all it's faults, the four wheel drive works well!

It doesn't get good gas mileage, the road noise is loud, when it's locked, sometimes the anti-theft will go off, the seats aren't comfortable on long road trips. It is fairly reliable to go from point a to point b. Haven't had an issue with the four-wheel drive. When it goes into four wheel drive it's seamless.

- Kelli B

The brake line had to be changed out due to having a manufactured weak spot.

The car is reliable, comfortable, and sleek. It is small enough to park just about anywhere comfortably while large enough to fit the family. It does not have a lot of power, though, and is not necessarily a 'cool car. ' it gets decent gas mileage, but the it does not have a electric model that is affordable.

- Ray S

My time with the Ford Escape.

This car has really done well for me. It gets really good gas mileage. The extra space has really allowed me to bring more stuff with me when I need to travel for work events. Only one major repair was when alternator failed. Parts will become more hard to find, so the cost of repairs will continue to rise.

- Jonathan G

Family friendly, four door SUV. Great for all kinds of trips and adventures

I like my car because it is big enough to hold an entire group and fit all of our stuff for a road trip. It has a thing where it will kind of stutter when I press on the gas sometimes. Like it acts like it is not going to move but then it does. It is not a deal breaker, I still really enjoy driving the car.

- Rebekah B

Drive a Ford an arrive safely we ever been go.

It has been a very good vehicle alot of space in it I think if it was newer it drives very good to hear so old it really is in a good condition it has 245 thousand miles on it I was driving a newer car but went thru a divorce the paint job on it has really held up had really had good experiences with ford.

- Deborah K

I love my comfy Escape very much!

I love my Escape for many reasons. I love the seating. The seats are a bit shorter than average, and that suits my short legs well. We have not had many problems at all. We do keep up with maintenance. The storage is great, it is big enough to pull out small boat, and it has really held up over the years.

- Patty W

Isn't the best but gets the job done.

This is a great car. Five passenger car with plenty of trunk space. It drives well. If you keep up with the necessary maintenance, it will last a while. Only issues I've come across is when I didn't do my oil change on time and the incorrect fuel cap. This car has treated me well for the last five years.

- Erica L

My Ford Escape gets me there.

My Ford Escape has a very shaky steering wheel, however it does not affect its driving quality. For being a smaller vehicle it has a good amount of room. The seats are comfortable and can adjust fine to your liking. The center console is quite small but their is other storage places that make up for it.

- Autumn N

Ford's Small SUV is not top-notch

I bought this car from my son and it's a decent car that gets me to work and home but you can hear a lot of road noise and it kind of rattles. This is not cheap on gas. Being a small SUV. Our gas prices in central Illinois are around $2.69 and from a quarter tank to three-quarters tank is around $20.

- Amy J

2005 Ford Escape limited.

So far there are no problems, just a little fix here and there but other than that very reliable. Gets me place to place without problems so I am very happy with it. It is bigger than the car I did have before it and I work on a farm so a bigger car is much more suitable for me and my needs on the farm.

- Megan S

Best car to get by with!!

This car is pretty good to be very honest. You can get through with it with any weather or climate. If you try your best to keep it in the best condition possible then you should not have any problems with it. Along with all that it also drives very smoothly and the interior is as nice as the exterior.

- Samantha B

Great Ride But Some Downfalls

Even though it is a great car it is a little small for my liking. The color is great and it drives really well. The gas is better than the last car my family had. The trunk is a good size to fit certain things and holds a good bit of items. It is almost enough room for the whole family of 4. Loving it.

- Emily W

Simple yet reliable and dependable vehicle.

The car in my opinion is very reliable. Very low maintenance and good gas mileage. If there is a problem it is always very easy to fix. I have over 100,000 miles and the car still works fine. I can fit plenty of stuff in the vehicle and also people which makes it good for road trips with the family.

- Jesus M

The highs and lows of a 2005 Ford Escape.

Alignment and alternator problems- car has died while driving and has once been in the ditch leading to unalignment and new tires needed. I also have over 250, 000 miles in which I am hoping will make me through college. Gas mileage is 17/g which often causes a lot of refills and they are expensive.

- Mackenzie C

All wheel drive is great for country life!

My biggest problem is getting in and out of the driver's seat since I am tall and have neck injuries which make it hard to bend. But other than that it is a really good vehicle. And, it is getting old and has 250, 000 miles on it so it takes a lot of maintenance but other than that I love that car.

- Cee F

Great old car and still going strong.

I love my car. It's good on gas. Has lots of legroom for every passenger. Its lasted a long time also and runs great. Has plenty of back storage for groceries or luggage! Even for a old car I have had no breakdowns or major repairs. Anything I had to fix was surprisingly cheap and easy to repair.

- Chelsea S

I like the Ford Escape. Have driven it for 11 yrs and am pleased.

Extremely reliable as long as I take care with maintenance. I have had very little engine trouble. I like the size and the handling with enough room to spread out. Good trunk size and like the sunroof. Paint is peeling from the roof and the front of the hood, but is likely normal wear and tear.

- Jenny P

I love that there are speakers on each door!

It is the smoothest ride I have ever taken! There is plenty of space for passengers and the back seat folds down so I can transport just about anything! I have had minimal issues with my Escape - aside from routine maintenance! I will definitely be upgrading to a newer model when it comes time!

- Lauren K

I love all the room it has in the inside through it looks small from the outside

The transmission is having some trouble switching to higher gears but that could just be I have an older Ford Escape & don't take good care of it. The Ford Escape has a back row. There is plenty of room in the trunk for things. If I but the back seats down I can easily fit a bike in my car.

- Sarah D

It has been a comfortable, reliable car that has even performed well in snow.

I actually own a Mercury Mariner, which was not on the list. It is the equivalent to a Ford Escape. This car has over 163,000 miles and is still going strong. It is beginning to have a few electrical problems such as failing seat heater, but that has not affected the performance of the car.

- Joy R

My 2005 Ford Escape why does my review title have to be so long?

Goes through gas quickly but runs great. Brakes work, and rarely gets scratches, even when hitting with hard object. Easy to maintain, does not like the rain, but it does not hydroplane, it just rumbles a bit more when it is wet. Other than that there really is not any more complaints I have.

- Lauren Z

It has really nice heated seats.

I have problems with my air going out when I accelerate. Sometimes it makes a ticking sound when idle, but only if the heat is on. Other than that I really do not have any problems. It is a pretty nice car. I would think it was small if I had kids, but it is a good size for a college student.

- Jessie C

Ford Escape 2005. Runs like new!

We've owned this car for about more than 10 years now and it is the most reliable car we've ever had. minimal problems and still runs like when we first bought it. Perfect for families with enough comfort and space for everyone. Short distances and even road trips are great in the family car!

- Samantha J

05 Ford Escape perfect size.

I love my 2005 Ford Escape, it is a smaller size SUV. It gives me plenty of room to haul things if I needed to, but it also is not a huge vehicle so it doesn't take up the whole road. My Escape was in a wreck before I bought it, so it has some paint damage, but I still think it is beautiful.

- Diana N

2005 Ford Escape review This is a very reliable sound vehicle to own.

Cv joints wear out too quickly because of the front wheel drive. The sears are uncomfortable. The vehicle drives very well and is easy to maneuver. Fuel mileage is very good for an SUV. Visibility is very good. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone and would advise using a lumbar support.

- Casey H

Old Ford still runs like new!!

Very few problems with my 2005 Ford Escape. It has been my primary vehicle since 2009. Even tho it is pushing almost 200 thousand miles I have had to do no work on it other than routine maintenance. It is a very well built vehicle and I will continue to buy Ford products till the day I die.

- Damon B

Nice ride with a moonroof.

It has air conditioning and a moonroof and power locks and seats. It is grey. It has a radio with a CD player. It also has power mirrors. It is a comfortable ride. The gas mileage could be better. We bought it new. The front seats power back so you can lay back in them and take a little nap.

- Sheila B

Reliable Escape cannot be beat!

I have 181, 000 miles and it has been extremely reliable. Really afraid to get a newer vehicle because it has caused me so few problems. I get good gas mileage, most people cannot believe it is a 2005 and I feel safe in it. Other than replacing things for wear and tear I have had no issues.

- Linda S

The style makes a skillful profile. Older automobiles are indeed classics.

It is reliable and efficient on fuel. It is economy style offers comfort and looks stylish. Even though it is climbed in year, it requires minimal maintenance and moves smoothly without any degree of turbulence. The newer models are not nearly as durable and classical as this older model.

- Abby P

The quality and performance is amazing.

Have not had any problems. I bought my escape second handed in 2016. It is still going strong. I've got around 160.000 miles approximately. I never liked fords before. But when I purchased my escape everything changed. Now that's all I would choose. My next vehicles will be a ford escape.

- Paula J

The truck is in great shape. Well taken care of, inside and out.

I bought it from the first owner. I've had it 6 years ago, and love it! It's been a great truck. A little wear & tear, but it's been good to me. I bought my first set of tires, about a year 10 months ago. I replaced the alternator & battery. The condenser was changed out, as well.

- Diana R

A home on wheels no matter the weather.

Went in the hole worth less than loan. Good but sucks 4wd is not manually turned on it is automatic like AWD. Body is decent it is durable and reliable. I worry my tranny will go but that's my fault due to lack of oil changes. I would get something more 4wd able if shopping in the future.

- Clarence B

I would have to say that it's a great vehicle for living in Maine.

I love my vehicle because it is very quick in traffic, the perfect size. Fun to drive. It has heated seats, which is great in Maine. It has 4 wheel drive, which I love! I love the large sunroof! I love the roominess! I love the tinted windows. It is hard on gas! It is great in the snow.

- Linda W

Great Escape. Worth buying, new or used.

I really love my Escape. It's the perfect size for my family. My vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel drive. AC. It also has a 6 disk CD changer along with Siri. Nice temp controlled sitting. I would highly recommend this vehicle. It has great fuel economy and the up keep is very minimal.

- Kim S

Cute little SUV, good MPG and lasts

I love my car, but I bought it used so it wasn't in the best condition. It has to be manually locked and unlocked because the locks gave out. The ride is super smooth though! I love that it's a small SUV that fits 5-6 people comfortably. I recommend this car to someone for sure.

- Bren D

It is a good car with a few flaws.

The 2005 Ford Escape is a good car. It handles really well and is comfortable. It does not have heated seats which would be nice while driving in the winter. My transmission had to be replaced after few years and was not under warranty. The car does get reasonably good gas mileage.

- Greg S

Comfort & economy at the right size.

I have had no maintenance issues. It sits high as an SUV, this is good for me (I have back issues). I like the size, easy to park & turn. Seats fold down, plenty of room. Decent gas mileage (around 26 on highway). It is comfortable on long trips. It also has fog lights - bonus.

- Gerri W

Ford escape reliable SUV with great gas mileage

This vehicle has always been reliable for me. The gas consumption is wonderful. The back seats fold down and it has a ton of storage. It has plenty of power and it's a great overall vehicle. Other than basic parts wearing out I have had no problems and the car is easy to work on.

- Rhiannon D

I love luggage carrier on top and running boards. Great vehicle.

Very reliable good gas mileage sporty yet fits family. Very comfortable perfect height for short person. Automatic seats windows mirrors. Can lay back seats down for more space. Has sliding counselor so no one can see what is in the back. Can either open back window or full door.

- Peggy A

Ford Escape issues solved without too much cost.

I have had to replace the engine mounts and something in the cylinders other than that great. Had a little trouble with the alarm but was worked out quickly get good gas mileage for its age I wish the back seats folded completely flat to make that extra storage easier good size.

- Terri G

It is a 2005 red Ford Escape hybrid.

My car is really great on gas. I fill up for about $30 and can get about 400 miles on a full tank (hybrid. ) One thing I really do not like, though, is that the door sensor is broke and my alarm will go off at random times, this is a very common problem with early 2000s fords.

- Elizabeth C

Ford Escape the best choice out of all the all terrain vehicles.

We love it, it's all terrain and very comfortable. Great on gas as well. We would easily purchase another. Purchased this one used at over 100,000 miles and still no regrets. Runs like a dream. Planning on a new one in about 2 years. This will be very exciting and long waited.

- Virginia B

Long drives in this vehicle

I was able to drive my vehicle to Ohio and back with no complications. Even though the previous owners did not properly maintain the vehicle, it was sturdy enough to hold up through this rough drive. It has great gas mileage and is easily adjustable for all types of drivers.

- Ashley R

Mediocre Escape with issues.

There have been issues with the engine and breaks. The brakes caught fire one time and it affected the fuel system. Error codes continue to come up with the check engine light with the dealership being unable to correct the issue. I am not sure I would purchase a Ford again.

- Jerry K

The 2005 Ford Escape has a durable frame that also is very manageable in weight.

The 2005 Ford Escape is a good, reliable vehicle. It has been running great condition since it had been purchased. The only issues that I am experiencing are the steering column makes a creaking noise when I turn the wheel. This problem only showed up with in the past month.

- Alex D

4 wheel drive 2005 Ford escape

My Ford escape drives great. It's a really good little family car. It is surprisingly spacious. The 4 wheel drive helps, I live down a long dirt road and I can hardly feel the bumps of the road. It also has a back windshield wiper and spray cleaner, which is a great feature.

- Christina R

Slow and steady wins the race

Not enough power. Slow acceleration. Good gas mileage. Hard to do small fixes at home. Some speciality parts needing because of Hybrid. Good for small family. Safe. Good visibility. Good space for content. Can sleep in it. Can fit a kayak in the back with the window open.

- Luke H

Visibility and comfort are the best features of this vehicle.

I can see really well from this vehicle. I have 2 others and being short it is not always easy seeing over the steering wheel. The seats are easily moved for comfort and visibility. Wipers, lights. And radio etc. are well within reach. Height of Escape is easy in and out.

- Julie K

Just love Fords! Very dependable ride.

Love the back end. Can hail many items from groceries to a small bed or lots of luggage. It's just the right size to fit four nicely and easy to find that small parking spot. I would buy this make and model. Again. The gas mileage is pretty good too and I just love Fords!

- Lori S

My vehicle is a nightmare.

Previous owner didn't take care of the car. Left me with a list of repairs. Needed new everything. Oil was never changed. Breaks never changed. Tires never changed. Over all it is been a nightmare maintaining the car. Please take care of you vehicles before selling them.

- Shannon S

Owned by me. Cars been through alot of states and went overseas and back.

Cars getting too old, starting to get rusty. Interior is falling apart. Runs good but can't drive state to state. Makes noise when using A/C, CD playing not working anymore but radio is running ok. Brakes making noise every time. Tires are new, tints are falling apart.

- Shawn L

Loving my vehicle that is easy to drive, park. And travel.

Works great. Smooth ride, comfortable, reliable. Love the rack on top. Can use there or pulled down on back at side of vehicle. Leather seats, cruise control, am FM CD holds 6 CDs, seats 5 people comfortably. Love my ford escape, cruise control, rear defog, fog lights.

- Crystal M

Ford Escape: A car for everyone.

Car is a rock, never broke down, maintenance is easy. It has wonderful gas mileage. It is great in all weather, rain or snow. Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone. The interior is perfect it's very rooming and hold five passengers comfortably. Enjoy this vehicle.

- Ryan J

The most important thing to know is that my Escape will go places that the average Mom-mobile would not! Go ground clearance!

I love the handling of my Ford Escape! I really enjoy how easy it is to drive with minimal physical discomfort. I like that it is a Happy compromise in size between crossovers and pickups. My Escape has high miles and that I do not like but that means more adventures.

- Michelle B

You can drive it long distances.

Fords are popular here where I live, so parts are easy to come by. Escapes drive smooth with not a lot of wear and tear on them, they only issue is that when it gets hot with leather seats you stick. They are animal friendly and offer a lot of legroom for long drives.

- Alyssa N

It has several models of it.

Its comfortable, fits my kids car seats well. It's also safe. I have had two of these cars and I have loved both of them so much. They also fit all my groceries comfortably. I have taken several long trips in it. I have never had any problems mechanically with it.

- Kelsey M

It is it an all wheel drive SUV. It is silver and perfect for my short height.

I like the shape of my vehicle, it allows me to see well out of the sides of the front windshield. I like that the seat is adjustable up and down, as I am very short. I like that it sits up high on the road. I like the durability, as we have had minimal problems.

- Sarah W

Hybrid Ford Escape 2005 still works like new with reasonable gas mileage.

It is really durable, has been through a lot. I ended up having to purchase a new engine when the engine died but all in all the car has held up extremely well. I have a hybrid and the gas mileage is surprisingly low for a larger car that is nearly 15 years old.

- Alice L

Great vehicle is the seat warmer and the automatic light system

It performs well. Good on gas, comfortable to ride, and drive. Visibility is excellent..handles smoothly Very low maintenance Exterior is good looking. Pain color is pleasing Like the automatic light system Also seat warmer is a great feature in extreme cold

- Anne C

It performs very well on snowy roads.

I like the size of it, it's perfect for my husband and I. I like that it's four wheel drive, because we have a hilly driveway. I don't like that it's rusting above the rear tires, because even though it has 220,000 miles on it, it gives us very little problems.

- Twila M

Reliable car, a few flaws in design though.

There are no vents for backseat air conditioning, no auxiliary cord connection, and the back seats are slightly uncomfortable. The car itself is really reliable and I would definitely recommend it to those who do not mind the lack of luxury it sometimes shows.

- Kayla B

12 month old twin hauler!

As a short person (4'10') I find this vehicle to be tankish despite being smaller than other SUVs. For it's age, it has helped up very nicely. This car was is important for us since we have 12 month old twins. I wish it got better gas mileage (25+/- mpg).

- Carrie M

Great car— two down sides.

All around the vehicle is pretty good! There’s just 2 major problems. The cloth/rubber on the doors fall off and the air does not work. These seem to be major problems in these cars. After doing my research it seems tons of people have these two issues.

- Kelsey D

Good old reliable ford escape

I bought this car three years ago and still drives great. Bought it for the four wheel drive and works great in the snow during the wintertime. Starts right up in below zero weather. Overall a very reliable car and very affordable to fix when needed.

- David R

Really Is A Decent Little SUV

Driver door issues. Door is always ajar... window doesn't go down. Handles really good in snow with AWD. All other repairs have been your typical vehicle issues. Rusts over the wheels... the rest of the body is in good shape. Gets decent gas mileage.

- Karen D

Functional, useful, comfortable vehicle. Will hate when I have to get rid of it.

Functional comfortable vehicle. four wheel drive, necessary for where I live in the winter. If Ford hadn't redesigned, I'd probably have a newer model, but I carry stuff and pets, not people. Newer models are great people carriers, but that's it.

- Susan S

It is spacious; the trunk is very roomy. The seats are very comfortable and is made of leather.

I like that is plenty of room and that it runs very smoothly. There is a big space in the back to put my stuff in, plus there is room for my other family members. I don't like how it wastes a moderate amount of gas compared to past cars I've had.

- Gabriela F

Please look at my prior answer.

Very reliable!! It is easy to drive. It handles well in the snow especially because it rides higher and does not get stuck in the ruts as much as my other vehicles have in the past! It also handles potholes better than the lower riding vehicles!

- Gary T

We bought our Escape as a mileage improvement over the Trailblazer we had prior to it. We have driven across the country in it, we have pulled our trailer up and down the hills of southern Indiana with it, and we have camped in it as a family. It is a wonderful family vehicle and we plan to drive it until it refuses to drive any further.

I love my escape. We are a family of four with two dogs. We all fit quite comfortably in it and are able to pull out camper behind us with little to no issues. The maintenance is relatively easy to do on it. The gas mileage is really great also.

- Eleasha E

This is an excellent AMERICAN made/UNION made vehicle!!! This car is very dependable and it handles well in all weather.

This car is VERY reliable. It can handle potholes. It maneuvers well in snow. Plenty of room inside this car also. It would be even better if it were a hybrid that allowed me to use solar power and the alternative would be biofuel.

- Garie T

It is not too heavy on gas.

My first SUV, I enjoy the line of sight and feel, which is much different than a sedan. The car handles well for being 13 years old; I have a 2018 pacifica that has amazing power steering. The SUV handles well in snow and on highways.

- Michael W

It has plenty of room so you can shop and put the items in the back and not worry about it getting wet if it rains like it would in a truck

I like the style and gas mileage I get with this SUV. I would love to have a new one but that's not in our budget. It's perfect for my family which is my husband and our service dog so it gives him room to move around freely if needed

- Pamela M

It lasts forever. I've owned this car for 13 years, and I only have 77000 miles on it, but it gets great mileage, and I haven't had any huge troubles with it.

I love my car because it has lasted me for 13 years. I only have about 77000 miles on it. I feel like it has kept me safe this whole time, it stores a lot in the trunk, and I love to drive it. I can't think of anything I dislike.

- Christine J

The ford escape has good driving mileage and good driving comfort.

drives well, had problems with the accelerator sticking on me. problems with the electric system with the window not going down. I had problems with the door, but overall fair ford escape. It's very comfortable when driving.

- margie A

it is a comfortable car to drive and also to ride in as a passenger.

I love my Ford Escape. It is the perfect size vehicle for me. There is ample room to load groceries. Lots of room in the back seat for other to sit and be comfortable. Driving is easy and there is a lot of room up front.

- Kathleen H

That it drives really well and gets good gas mileage.

My Escape is has been a very reliable vehicle. Have never had any major mechanical issues. It gets very good gas mileage. Only issue has been the door ajar sensor that keeps going off and no one at the Ford dealer can fix it.

- Thom g

- nancy s

That my Escape is really comfortable and not a bad choice to consider.

I like my Ford Escape because it is comfortable and sits high off of the ground. I like my Ford because it is a SUV and suites my lifestyle. I do not like it because it has more complications than I would like it too.

- Nay R

Lack of any major problems. Only normal maintenance.

Purchased the Escape new, was equipped just how I wanted. I have had it for thirteen years with no major problems. I have kept it serviced regularly, with only normal maintenance, brakes and tires, and oil changes.

- Milton G

Absolutely love that the seats flip down flat so my dogs can lay down on them.

Absolutely love my basic Ford escape. The seats flip down in the back so I can take my dogs to my parents house to run. It stops on a dime and runs like a charm. I have not had any major issues wrong with my car.

- Stacie P

The most important thing is that it has been very reliable.

This is a midsize suv but has all the room you need for a comfortable ride. The seats are comfortable and the suv handles very good. The steering is nice and tight to give you great control plus has great power.

- Nathan J

The 2005 Ford Escape Xlt 2x4

2005 Ford Escape xlt 2x4 I've owned my escape for over 10 years now. I bought used with a little over 100k miles on it. At the time of purchase it was only a couple years old model year and It was what I needed

- Guy P

It's paid for and still going strong...Ford reliability.

I have enjoyed my escape for the most part. I've only had 2 major issues with it which was a short in the wiring harness and the idler pulley bolt broke off. Other than that I've only had typical repairs on it.

- Beverly S

It has good mileage and it is still going strong.

My vehicle is an SUV. I like it because it can hold 5 people and has a lot of trunk space and headroom. In addition to that, it drives pretty well. As the vehicle is old, it requires quite a bit of servicing.

- Godfrey r

The sport option is amazing! Helps in different road condition.

My car has been the best source of transportation for the last 6 years now. In all condition the weather throws at us my car can handle it all. If you keep up with maintenance your car will keep up with you.

- Honey N

It is a very reliable and comfortable car to drive

I love my Ford Escape! It drives nicely and is super comfortable. Since it is older (2005) it has had to get some work done to it but nothing crazy. It has always been super reliable and I would recommend.

- Kelsey T

it is a game-changer - the best American hybrid vehicle

my vehicle is a ford escape hybrid. it has taught me how to drive with greater fuel economy. my lifetime mileage is about 40mph. i have no complaints, except that ford stopped making the escape hybrid.

- deb a

The transmission on Fords don't seem to hold up that well.

My Ford Escape is perfect for me size-wise. It doesn't guzzle gas as much as larger SUVs and handles well. It has nearly 225000 miles on it. The transmission doesn't seem like it has much more life left.

- Megan W

The gas mileage may shock you if you aren't ready to expect it as a trade off for its power.

It is a powerful car with quite a bit of kick. I love how much storage it has. However, more and more it is needing extensive repairs. Repairs that it shouldn't need yet because it's well taken care of.

- Cody U

The vehicle gets the job done but sucks fuel and is expensive in the up keep!

Lots of mechanical problems. It sucks gas down like water also the right fender well was recalled on the vehicle but we didn't know and had 2 pay 2000 to get it fixed or our week would have rotted off!

- Judith H

My car runs reliably despite the fact that I don't treat it that well.

My car is named Susan. It is black and has several dents and rust spots. i like that it works well despite my terrible driving. I don't like its poor gas mileage or the fact that its AC doesn't work.

- Maggie S

My car has held up through many years of hard use with almost no issues.

I like that my car is dependable and sturdy. I dislike that the interior has gotten progressively worse with age. The interior paneling is falling off and the floorboards and headliner are stained.

- Olivia W

The size and how well it handles in the bad weather.

I like that it is just the right size. Not too small or too big. It does well in the snow but still nice to drive in the summertime. Gas mileage is also a plus. I don't really have any complaints.

- Jenifer B

It's safe and has a very smooth ride. Also it's sounds really cool.

I like that the vehicle has AWD and a V6 engine. Another feature I like about my vehicle is the premium audio system. My only complaints are the vehicles is very awkward and difficult to work on.

- Gage C

It's got a bit of a "kick" to it. It's an automatic but sometimes when it tries to shift gears it'll shake for a second. Somewhat scary but it's got character.

It is a tan compact SUV and has been in my family for over ten years. It is an old car and has some issues but I enjoy it. Without it I wouldn't be able to get to work so it is important to me.

- Paul B

It has a great sense of comfort. Very easy to drive and if you need to go fast and quickly you can!

It is a stable vehicle. It get a me from point a to point b. It is not good on gas at all, it is very reliable but also expensive on gas. It's a comfortable car and is a great first car choice!

- Sierra H

It is a great family car. It is definitely very safe and also has a lot of space for many people and many things.

I like that my vehicle gets great gas mileage. I also like that it is safe. I was rear-ended a few years ago and was not injured at all. I don't like that it is getting old and outdated.

- Ashley C

Great on gas and so far no mechanic issues.

I love how good my car is on gas. A full tank usually lasts a while. It drives really smooth and it is just an all out good car. The only bad thing about it is how much it breaks down.

- Laura M

It is fairly easy on gas. It also has lasted me quite a while with little to no maintenance.

It has been a very reliable car for me. It runs and drives great. It is the perfect size for me, not too big to drive, but also convenient for groceries and having multiple passengers.

- Casey J

The pros and cons of my 2005 Ford Escape.

It's a good car just kind of a gas hog and sometimes it gets overheated. I took it for joy rides but it wouldn't keep the gas. I love my car other then the facts that are stated above.

- Matt H

That is gets pretty good mileage

I love that it is a SUV. LOve the cargo space in the back, if I need to haul stuff, I can let the seats down and bring a lot of stuff home. I love that is has AC, my old car did not.

- jackie r

This Ford keeps on ticking.

Car is sturdy, reliable, more like a truck. Problems have been no air conditioning. Gets good gas mileage, I have over 200, 000 miles on it also. I do like the fords though.

- Veronica B

The smell of burning oil. . .

There is a smell of burning oil when the air vents blowing. Very unsettling to riders. That is the only I had a problem other than that reliable vehicle. Gas mileage is ok.

- William R

I love this car it has 4 wheel drive and back seats that are easy to fold for carrying bigger items I really do not have any complaints that's why I have had it this long

- Rose A

Bad Mileage and crazy door alarm.

My car is, in my opinion, terrible on gas mileage. It only gets 16 MPG no matter where I go. Also my door alarm keeps going off even when I'm going 80 MPH down the road.

- Brett C

Great family car to accommodate all my family needs.

Bought it used but I have had it for 4 years now. While still under warranty had to have a new transmission put in but no real problems after that. Pretty good on gas.

- Teresa H

The mileage is very good.

250,000+ miles. Looks good, runs good, 4wd, v6.. Carrying passengers and equipment. All good.. Hard for me to egress/ingress at 6 foot 2 inches & over 300 pounds. Bad.

- Cee F

The most important thing about the escape is that it is a hybrid which helps with gas.

My ford escape is a little suv. It gets good gas mileage. It is easy to drive and sporty. I wish there was more leg room. I wish the air conditioner was stronger.

- kathi h

It is safe and great for road trips.

I like how much space there is. The seats are comfortable. Drives smooth but sometimes makes a rattling noise. Has a lot of mileage but still running fairly well.

I like the way it handles the size of it and the looks of it I like the color of it and the fact that I have had it since it was and its always been reliable.

- Pat M

My car is white, has five seats and is a crossover between a suv and car. I love the amount a room I have when I'm traveling.

It's good, reliable, and gets me everywhere I need to go. I have never had a serious problem with my Escape, and it handles extremely well in all conditions.

It's a smooth ride and excellent transportation for families

I love the height, its dependable for my growing family. I feel safe in it, its not as expensive to work on. My only complaint is its terrible on gas mileage

It has enough room for a large load of groceries.

I like how much room my vehicle has for groceries and I just dislike the look of it sometimes. I also enjoy the size of the car, unlike huge trucks and SUVs.

- Samantha E

Nice size car and runs great for the price of this car.

Small SUV with a decent amount of room. Have had no major trouble with this car. Dislike that it is 4 wheel drive all the time, uses a lot of gas that way.

The Escape has been a very good vehicle. It is very reliable, comfortable, roomy and versatile. My only complaint is that I wish it was more fuel efficient.

I like that it's economic and that it runs. It is actually smaller than I want. We are a family of 5 so it's very snug but the price was in the budget.

- Jessica G

It's a good and reliable car to have. You do need to make sure you get it serviced regularly. If you take care of it, it'll take care of you!

3 catalytic converters, what for?

It's a nice SUV. Seat warmers would be nice. Doesn't need 3 catalytic converters, that makes it very expensive to smog. Hard to do self repairs.

Brakes are terrible, rust, one door will not unlock. I have had this car for a long time and it only started to fall apart after I paid it off.

- Chenoa E

It's been reliable with the exception of early failure of the transmission and steep decrease in gas mileage

I love how roomy my vehicle is. It is a nice family car. The only thing I do not like is the issues I am currently having with mine.

The battery is hidden and you have to take the whole front end off to change it.

I like the gas mileage, size of engine, cargo space, roominess for passengers.. I like the way it drives.. I like the acceleration.

- Thomas M

Very economical for the size of it.

Has lots of room. Four door. Big hatch. Handles well. Not real expensive on fuel. Is comfortable for long trips and for children.

- Lisa F

It gets great mileage per gallon.

It has great ac. It gets great gas mileage. It performs well. The parts are starting to wear. No complaints other than it is old.

The Ford escape is an excellent vehicle. Very reliable. The only problem is that the brake pedal sticks when it is cold outside.

I like the mileage it gets and the power of the heat and ac. I dislike that it is only a four cylinder but it gets the job done.

- colleen f

It may not have a usable aux cord but it does have a 6 CD changer, and that's pretty neat.

It's a black suv with a moon roof 4 doors v6 engine small trunk but the back seat folds down and has a lot more space

- Kim D

It is there when you need it.

It is there. It has a car roof. It is old and out of date. It is great for grocery. It has no problem in bad weather.

- Sherwin L

It's a red escape limited

It's really nice to drive. Gas mileage isn't great but otherwise. Great features and haven't had almost any problems

- Chandler M

It rides like a drEams. If fun and has an up to date radio.

The radio is gr3at you can say a name of a song and comes on. Comfortable and can take my wheelchair in the back.

- Rose P

The alarm system is not reliable and should be taken out to avoid annoyance.

The alarm system goes off if I lock the door after 15 minutes. It has very low MPG in the city and the interstate.

- Charles H

The Ford escape is a good model.

I like the comfort. It's so good for the family. Save a lot of gas. The air conditioning is good. The car is good.

- Lorraine l

I love the gas mileage. It's nice to know my car is better for the environment while saving me money. It's great when I take it on long trips since the seats fold down for maximum storage capacity. The only downside is that if the car idles for too long it'll make a really loud sound at some point.

It's a hybrid so you get all the comfort and convenience of an SUV without paying an arm and a leg in gas.

- Hope H

It is a small reliable SUV with decent gas mileage.

Gas mileage and front wheel drive is what I enjoy most. But the size could be a bit bigger for my liking.

I don't like that it uses gas, I do like that it is not too big, and also that it is still very roomy.

- Rad T

My car is very touchy on the gas pedal when driven- it jolts a lot and the steering wheel shakes when accelerated sometimes.

It runs great for its age. However it has weak brakes and stereo system. Very touchy on the gas pedal.

- tyler v

I like how much space it has, and that it has storage space on the inside instead of a trunk. I do not like how old is it because I cannot use Bluetooth and I have to burn CDs to listen to music or the radio.

It gets really good gas mileage. I can go a long way before I have to stop at the gas station.

it's been a great vehicle, handles well, looks good. still rides great. easy maintenance.

- Angela B

I like the fact that it is a small / Medium size SUV. It's hard to find that size. Usually SUVs are either huge or tiny. I also consider it to be very reliable and tough because there are almost 200K miles on the vehicle and its still going. I don't like that it's a hybrid. it has an older hybrid motor and battery and it bothers me. The hybrid motor only turns on when the car is idle. so it's not very fuel efficient.

It's old and it still runs! 200,000 miles and it turns on every time and it still runs.

- Jason K

It is made good and seems to last better than some.

I love how easy my escape is to handle. It does well on gas mileage. It is a good car.

I like that it is an SUV style vehicle and that I am able to see well out of it.

- Amy R

I love Fords! My ford escape is reddish in color and holds a lot in the back without the problem of getting wet. The only problem I have had and yet to get it fixed even after paying several times for repair has been the air conditioner. It does not work at all!

It has the size a SUV should but does not feel like you are driving a large boat

- Michele G

It has a nice big windshield and it it able to pull a trailer

I love the fact that it is an SUV. It has a nice trunk but it could be bigger

It is a reliable car that has given me no significant problems outside of normal maintenance. I have more than 183,000 miles on the car and still feel confident in its performance. It is older so the interior features are not state of the art to keep up with more current make and models but it is a safe, working car that I will continue driving until I absolutely need to get a new one.

It is a family friendly car that will last for years without any major issues

- Paige S
