2005 Ford Escape XLT
I bought the car with 115K miles on it December 2020. It is now June 2021 and the mileage is at 126k. The only problem I have is rust on both sides with rocker panels and behind the rear wheel panels. I really like this car better than my new Pacifica. It is mostly a work car but has been reliable. I plan to keep it going as long as I can.

2005 Ford Escape-Bought Used. Reliable and Safe as long as upkeep is maintained.
I bought my car used in 2016. After some minor repairs, such as a constant oil smell, it ran very reliably for 2 years. I had a 20 minute commute to work, and the gas mileage on the highway was reasonable. I also felt very safe travelling with my children, due to the size and safety reviews. General upkeep was minimum until an issue started where it stalls at stop signs/lights and sometimes dies. This is still being worked on. I would recommend this vehicle if you have a trustworthy mechanic.

Best old car ever. She has been through hell and back, but still dependable.
I've had it a very long time with minimal problems. I love it, and so it will be my daughter's first car. It's a little beat up but very reliable.

My favorite thing about my car would be the reliability of the 4wd.
I absolutely love my car and would recommend it to anyone. It has done well performance wise, it is always very reliable and has never let me down. It is very comfortable and roomy. The only thing I think I would say as far as features go, is that not having a auxiliary plug in stinks but we have found ways around it. The 4 wheel drive is amazing as well.

It's really nice to drive. Gas mileage isn't great but otherwise. Great features and haven't had almost any problems

I like the Ford Escape. Have driven it for 11 yrs and am pleased.
Extremely reliable as long as I take care with maintenance. I have had very little engine trouble. I like the size and the handling with enough room to spread out. Good trunk size and like the sunroof. Paint is peeling from the roof and the front of the hood, but is likely normal wear and tear.

A nice gramma's car. Not your normal gramma car.
One thing that I have had problems with is the alternator, I have replaced it twice. I like the roominess, the fact that I can fit two car seats and a third child in the backseat. I can fit a lot of stuff in the back when I go camping, shopping, etc. I wouldn't mind having a different color, there needs to be more colors to choose from. Even though it is only a four speed it still does have some get up and go.

Great family car to accommodate all my family needs.
Bought it used but I have had it for 4 years now. While still under warranty had to have a new transmission put in but no real problems after that. Pretty good on gas.

Best car to get by with!!
This car is pretty good to be very honest. You can get through with it with any weather or climate. If you try your best to keep it in the best condition possible then you should not have any problems with it. Along with all that it also drives very smoothly and the interior is as nice as the exterior.

Good old reliable ford escape
I bought this car three years ago and still drives great. Bought it for the four wheel drive and works great in the snow during the wintertime. Starts right up in below zero weather. Overall a very reliable car and very affordable to fix when needed.

It is a small reliable SUV with decent gas mileage.
Gas mileage and front wheel drive is what I enjoy most. But the size could be a bit bigger for my liking.

I like the fog lights that my car has and the reliable air conditioner.
This is a great car, it gets me where I need to go. I can go to the beach and I can go to the snow in the same day and my car can get me there. It is very roomy, I have slept in it on multiple camping trips and have done just fine. It is comfortable to drive, I am short and I enjoy that I feel high up off the ground. It is a very reliable car, I drive often and far and it has never given me any problems. It really is a great car.

Ford's Small SUV is not top-notch
I bought this car from my son and it's a decent car that gets me to work and home but you can hear a lot of road noise and it kind of rattles. This is not cheap on gas. Being a small SUV. Our gas prices in central Illinois are around $2.69 and from a quarter tank to three-quarters tank is around $20.
accountCircle Ray S on February 7, 2021
The brake line had to be changed out due to having a manufactured weak spot.
The car is reliable, comfortable, and sleek. It is small enough to park just about anywhere comfortably while large enough to fit the family. It does not have a lot of power, though, and is not necessarily a 'cool car. ' it gets decent gas mileage, but the it does not have a electric model that is affordable.

The Hybrid Ford Escape is quiet and the hybrid kicks on going 20 MPH and under.
The MPG in the Ford Escape is okay, I get approximately 19-23 MPG. It's extremely reliable and rarely have to get any maintenance. The 2005 Ford Escape drives okay but not comparable to newer cars. I would say the 2005 Ford Escape is the perfect car for new drivers; easy to drive, reliable, and a huge money saver.

Just keep the maintenance up on it and it will last you as long as need be
The main problem I have with the vehicle is the molding on the inside is very cheap and comes loose almost every day but other then that it runs fine

Cute little SUV, good MPG and lasts
I love my car, but I bought it used so it wasn't in the best condition. It has to be manually locked and unlocked because the locks gave out. The ride is super smooth though! I love that it's a small SUV that fits 5-6 people comfortably. I recommend this car to someone for sure.

Great Ride But Some Downfalls
Even though it is a great car it is a little small for my liking. The color is great and it drives really well. The gas is better than the last car my family had. The trunk is a good size to fit certain things and holds a good bit of items. It is almost enough room for the whole family of 4. Loving it.

I like how much space it has, and that it has storage space on the inside instead of a trunk. I do not like how old is it because I cannot use Bluetooth and I have to burn CDs to listen to music or the radio.
It gets really good gas mileage. I can go a long way before I have to stop at the gas station.

Cars getting too old, starting to get rusty. Interior is falling apart. Runs good but can't drive state to state. Makes noise when using A/C, CD playing not working anymore but radio is running ok. Brakes making noise every time. Tires are new, tints are falling apart.

Total quality. A car that needs only routine maintenance.
No problems. Very reliable vehicle. If the new models are of equal quality I would not hesitate to buy another one when I replace this one. Roomy reliable small SUV.
My tan 2005 ford escape is the best vehicles I have ever owned. It has 4 wheel drive and all the room of a bigger SUV but is still small enough it does not use a lot of gas. The 6 CD changer is great for long trips and the sunroof is perfect for the lovely spring days. The pm the steering wheel controls for cruise control os convenient and safer option. The downside is there is a significant rusty area under gas tank which seems to be common for year and model. The plastic on bumper and down the sides fades and cracks if you don't regularly keep oiled up.

4dr, Silver SUV w/cruise control that is great on gas.
Silver, 4dr SUV that I found to be a reliable daily driver. Good on gas, typically taking 20$ to fill up from 1/2 a tank. Cloth seats that stayed warm in the winter and cool in spring/summer. Has cruise control, power windows, multi-disc CD player, two 12v adaptors, and is equipped with anti-theft. The back opens up two ways - just the window and the whole door with separate handles for both. The trunk is very roomy, and even has a cover to hide anything you put back there and leave it. Unfortunately, it is not removable so if you have anything large you want to put back there, it makes it difficult to work around sometimes. Only issue I have with it is the back windshield wiper is so small that it clears off just a tiny spot that it is almost useless, and I don't like that the car alarm doesn't go off when someone pulls the handle while it is on - it apparently will only go off after it has already been broken into which I find kind of silly.

It's a nice SUV. Seat warmers would be nice. Doesn't need 3 catalytic converters, that makes it very expensive to smog. Hard to do self repairs.

My Ford Escape gets me there.
My Ford Escape has a very shaky steering wheel, however it does not affect its driving quality. For being a smaller vehicle it has a good amount of room. The seats are comfortable and can adjust fine to your liking. The center console is quite small but their is other storage places that make up for it.

2005 Ford Escape XLT review.
I really love my car! It is the perfect size for me, I am a full time college student and it is not too big or too small. My dad is a mechanic so he has had to fix a few things but it is a good car. I drive a mid-size SUV. I really like the height from the ground. I dislike that we've had to have a lot of work done on it recently.

That my car is a standard.
I like the size of it-not to big, not too small. Handles okay. Rear seats fold down for more cargo area.

The interior noise can be irritating.
I generally enjoy driving my car except that the interior noise is a bit much. It has a very responsive 6 cylinder and is comfortable other than the noise. I did have to have the ignition coil replace at about 120, 000 miles and recently had to have carbon build up dealt with but I do not drive it very much, comparatively speaking, and do not put a lot of miles on it.

It has a great sense of comfort. Very easy to drive and if you need to go fast and quickly you can!
It is a stable vehicle. It get a me from point a to point b. It is not good on gas at all, it is very reliable but also expensive on gas. It's a comfortable car and is a great first car choice!

The Ford Escape is a comfortable car, very stylish, love the all wheel drive.
Great vehicle. We own a 2nd, newer model Ford Escape. Dependable, reliable, Will continue to own a Ford Escape as long as they make them. Very much like the body style, how it handles in the snow, the comfort of the vehicle. Have never had any major repairs needed to either vehicle. Gets good gas mileage.

Great old car and still going strong.
I love my car. It's good on gas. Has lots of legroom for every passenger. Its lasted a long time also and runs great. Has plenty of back storage for groceries or luggage! Even for a old car I have had no breakdowns or major repairs. Anything I had to fix was surprisingly cheap and easy to repair.

The style makes a skillful profile. Older automobiles are indeed classics.
It is reliable and efficient on fuel. It is economy style offers comfort and looks stylish. Even though it is climbed in year, it requires minimal maintenance and moves smoothly without any degree of turbulence. The newer models are not nearly as durable and classical as this older model.

It's a car that's okay, it's better than some, not as good as others.
I don't like that it uses gas, I do like that it is not too big, and also that it is still very roomy.
