The 2018 Ford Mustang lasts around 200,000 miles with some average gauge cluster and engine misfiring issues reported. At $22,450 to $56,475, it’s pricey, but worth the money for a fun sports coupe with good reliability ratings.

I love that it is a muscle car and very fast.
I love it. Nothing wrong. Fast. Reliable. Very nice looking. Smooth riding. Sounds good. All features. Not good with snow. I love the dashboard. I live the seats bi love the rear view mirror. I love the wheels. I love the drop top. I love the radio. I love the heat. I love the ac.

Aftermarket parts are pricy.
Love the power. Love the style. Gas mileage is not the best but it is not really for that. Front suspension makes noise.

Mustang - boost your happiness.
Mustang ecoboost is really a very good affordable car. It is performance is very good and very low maintenance vehicle. I also went for 9hr drives when visiting my family and mustang has always put me at the best comforts only. No regrets on buying this car. The only problem with this car is max 3 people can fit and it will be little uncontested for the 3rd person to sit. Overall I love this car.

Sleekness sport design exterior.
Transmission acts weird at times. Could do better on keeping the engine bay or windshield clean from debris, leaves, such as covering cracks opening crevices etc. More head space for rear seat passengers. A 4 door mustang would be nice or sedan mustang.

The best 2018 mustang made.
Performance is the best on an ecoboost enough horsepower and economic. The seats are comfortable, the digital cluster very nice upgrade. The paddle shifters with rev match is one of the coolest features also including active exhaust system. Besides remote start from a distance is also very cool.

Performance: had 10 gears and drives like a race car.
Gt no it is a convertible high performance handled the road nicely. Seats are leather heated and air conditioned. I can change the way the car handles by selecting different features such as drag strip, wet:snow, normal or sports driving. This is my 6th mustang.
accountCircle Can B
The best convertible at 30k price point.
The little window on the back will not roll up all the way in convertibles. Other than that everything is working perfectly. Especially the s plus mode makes you feel like you have a supercar. Convertible top is very easy to operate but makes you wish that you can drop the top by using the key fob only. Adding that feature would increase the overall value that the car offers.
accountCircle Alex M
Best of all American sports cars.
Really good for a first sport car. Does not waste that much gas compared to better model. Fast but not too fast. The premium options are worth it makes the interior look nice and gives exterior nice wheels. Not too much room back seat is uncomfortable for a person that is over 5’5.

Sync3 problems abound with this car
Don’t get me wrong. The Mustang GT is a fun car to drive, but after nearly a year of ownership I can say that Sync3 infotainment (specifically WiFi and GPS) connections are spotty. GPS signal are frequently lost and WiFi feature won’t connect to my home’s signal.

What I like my car is the way it looks, the quickness and front seats.
Constant issues with engine, brakes, tires, interior front two seats are comfy but the back seats are horrible, traction system is awful, computer system always requires updates, turbo is quick, tugs when shifting, like interior, reliability scale 1-5 I give it a 2 because I am already having problems at only 45,000 miles.

The steering; the steering is solid.
The car is awesome, it is fast, it gives great mileage and it drives likes a charm. I never had any big issues with the car yet. I really like the car. My car has decent features which are standard on all new cars. Things like Bluetooth, backup camera etc...

It has two shining horses that are shown from the door.
I like the appearance of the car. It's pretty and fun. It also seems relatively safe. Its nearly difficult for it to go out of control, but it'd be more difficult if it was self driving. It's got plenty of insulation and its easy to operate panel controls.

Ford mustang 2018: dislike.
2018 ford mustang ecoboost coupe is super small on the inside. It is definitely easy to drive through. The only thing that I dislike is how long the car sits. It definitely needs bigger wheels and maybe a suspension to raise it. You can literally feel every bump or crack in the road.
accountCircle Sean C
Ford mustang: great car in all areas except comfort.
The car performs very well and is reliable, I just do not find the car particularly comfortable. There is a fair amount of room in the front and passenger side, however, there is very little room in the back. Also, because of the way the car is shaped, it is sometimes difficult to see cars in your blind spot when driving on the road.
accountCircle Cordell C
2018 mustang gt base manual.
It is a really fun car to drive, definitely not made to be an everyday driver if you plan to drive a mustang everyday I would suggest getting an ecoboost. Also the manual transmissions in these do not hold up and have a lot of issues. The best part is the 5.0 star safety rating I have tested that twice and it is definitely true.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford Mustang?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2018 Ford Mustang offers significant updates from earlier years that make it more compelling than ever, with good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the 2018 Mustang at 4.5/5, enjoying the comfortable suspension on rough roads, but doesn’t like the cramped back seats.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Mustang a 4.7/5, praising the power and styling, but owners don’t like that it does not offer all-wheel drive for snowy conditions.

What Common Problems Does the 2018 Ford Mustang Have?

Common problems found on the 2018 Ford Mustang include the gauge cluster going blank, engine misfires, along with poor performance when changing gears. Overall, these problems are similar to some other sports cars on the market, leading to average repair bills as they age.

The gauge cluster going blank is the most widespread complaint from 2018 Mustang owners in the first 1,500 miles. There are software updates available which improve the reliability of the screen. Most dealerships will install these updates for free, while some charge around $50 for labor.

Engine misfires have also been reported by some Ford Mustang owners at around 55,000 miles. There are several reasons misfires may happen, but one of the most likely reasons is due to worn-out spark plugs. Replacing the spark plugs costs around $300, depending on local labor rates.

Poor performance when changing gears is another problem mentioned on the 2018 Ford Mustang in the first 10,000 miles. This is a problem found on automatic transmission models, and is usually caused by the transmission control module. Resetting and reprogramming the module fixes the problem in a lot of cases, and costs around $150. There are some rare reports of people replacing their transmissions under warranty. Out of warranty, a new transmission can cost over $3,000.

There are three recalls on the 2018 Ford Mustang, which is similar to other sports coupes on the market. The most serious recall covers a hose barb fitting on the fuel lines which can cause a fuel leak. Ford will replace the fittings on affected models for free. Other recalls include the parking roll pin, along with the instrument cluster software, which Ford will also fix for free.

How Long Will the 2018 Ford Mustang Last?

A well-maintained 2018 Ford Mustang can last around 200,000 miles, which is slightly shorter than the Toyota 86. Regular annual maintenance costs are higher than some competitors, according to data provided by Repair Pal at $719 per year.

As a used 2018 Ford Mustang reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history report, owners should be prepared to replace the windshield washer fluid reservoir for $165, turbocharger intercooler tube for $360, along with the engine oil pan which costs $625.

What Colors Does the Ford Mustang Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Ford Mustang?

Comfort is one of the hallmarks of the 2018 Ford Mustang, blending sporty performance with refined interior quality. Its seats are designed to provide excellent support and comfort, even during long drives. Both the driver and front passenger will enjoy ample legroom and shoulder space, providing an open, roomy feel, which is unusual in the sports car category. As for the rear seats, while they can accommodate adults in a pinch, they are better suited for children or for short trips due to the limited legroom, typical of a sports coupe design.

The ride quality in the 2018 Mustang is impressive. With its independent rear suspension and available adaptive suspension (the MagneRide damping system), it smooths out most road imperfections and offers a comfortable ride, while still delivering the sporty handling and performance expected of a Mustang. The interior noise is well controlled, providing a quieter cabin that allows for easy conversation and enjoyable listening if you’re an audio enthusiast.

Ford has made sure that the Mustang’s interior feels upscale, with high-quality materials throughout, including available options like leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and soft-touch surfaces. Standard features, like power-adjustable front seats and available heated and ventilated seating, further elevate the comfort level.

How Much Storage Space Does the Ford Mustang Have?

The 2018 Ford Mustang offers adequate storage space, considering it’s a sports car that prioritizes performance over utility. The trunk of the 2018 Mustang measures at about 13.5 cubic feet for the coupe model, which is slightly more generous than some other vehicles in its class. Convertible models offer slightly less due to the space required for the top to fold down, but still provide a reasonable 11.4 cubic feet.

Though the trunk space isn’t massive, it is functional and can easily fit daily essentials or shopping bags. If you’re planning a weekend getaway, you should be able to comfortably accommodate a couple of small to medium suitcases. Regarding golf bags, you might have to be a bit strategic with positioning, but it’s possible to fit one in there. Remember that the rear seats of the Mustang also fold down, providing a little bit more room to stow longer items if necessary. But it’s worth noting that this car is not designed to be a storage powerhouse – the focus is primarily on its sporty drive and iconic style. The storage it does offer, however, should meet the needs of daily driving and short trips quite adequately.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The sixth generation of the Ford Mustang was launched for the 2015 model year.

2015: Fully redesigned for the sixth generation with new technology, engines, and styling.

2016: Upgraded Sync 3 infotainment system, black roof added to EcoBoost and GT models.

2017: No changes from earlier years.

2018: Updated front and rear bumper styling, V6 engine discontinued, upgraded power from the 4-cylinder and V8 engines, and adaptive suspension dampers available.

2019: Bullitt model reintroduced, minor changes to the options packages.

2020: New EcoBoost handling package available, stronger EcoBoost engine, and FordPass connect standard.

2021: EcoBoost and GT models come with Co-Pilot 360 safety software, Mach 1 model offered, Bullitt model discontinued.

How Does the Ford Mustang Compare to the Competition?

The 2018 Ford Mustang is a great sports coupe since it offers some strong engine choices, decent reliability ratings, and better handling than the competition.

The Chevy Camaro is another sports car which can be found for about $1,000 more. Performance is better in the Camaro in a straight line, while the Ford Mustang handles autocross and track driving better. We recommend the Ford Mustang since it has more advanced features, although both are worth test driving to see which you prefer.

The Dodge Challenger is a competitor which is available starting at about $2,000 less. Passenger room is better in the Dodge Challenger, while the Ford Mustang is much lighter and easy to toss through the turns. We recommend the Ford Mustang since it offers a more balanced driving experience, but both are decent coupes.

The mirrors have led lights shining onto the ground as a mustang.
I love my car, the only thing I really do not like is to be able to shift properly and freely on the paddle shifters, traction control must be off, once it is off the car feels completely different. I own a automatic convertible. The premium ecoboost has upgraded that are very enjoyable and luxury updates all around.

Fun to drive and get away! Fun, sporty, economical ride!
Only problem I have had was with the air filter getting clogged due to ash from fires! Easy fix! The heated and cooled seats are great, handles wonderfully, has a lot of power for a 4 cylinder vehicle! Seats are comfortable, there is not a lot of back seat room but a child could fit ok, not a reverse car seat unless the front seat is up almost all the way. Great gas mileage, 26 in town and 32 freeway. A fun car to drive.
accountCircle Kim H on June 6, 2021
It is a beautiful car without modifying it.
It can be masculine or feminine vehicle. It is fast and is really good on gas. My tank fills up between $35 no more than $50. I fill it up every week and a half I drive about 20 minutes to and from work 6 days out of the week. It is a 4 seater but really it is for 2 and maybe 2 people can fit in the back seats if they are not claustrophobic. It is a beautiful car though. I recommend it if you are looking into mustangs.

Do not buy this car buddy boy.
It's a fun car but it has small problems here and there. Would I buy again? Probably not. Looking to get rid of it soon. The ride is rough, the performance isn't terrible but other than that, it's a average car. The comfort isn't that good, but that's to be expected out of a cheap mustang.

Review of the 2018 mustang.
It is a truly beautiful car. The exterior looks extremely slick but the inside is a bit tight I would not recommend it for someone who is physically large. The back does not have much space however the trunk has a sufficient amount of space. For some reason the 2018 it does not have a touchscreen. However since it is a v-6 it is not too bad on gas. I only spend about $30 worth of gas weekly. The reverse camera comes in handy. The backseat does not have cup holders.
accountCircle Robin W on May 11, 2021
Fun, great ride, cool, love the convertible.

Smooth as butter. Extreme comfort.
The comfort is next level out of this world, you really get what you pay for. Most people think it is a small space but once you get in the car you actually have way more room than your average car. I haven't had any problems with it since I bought it 2 years ago. (2018) car of the year. I take it to the mechanic for a check up once every 3 months and nothing wrong with it except the normal oil change and all that. This car screams speed. Definitely gets people turning their heads wherever you pass by. Drivers as smooth as butter. People hate on mustangs for spinning out but any car you rev at max is going to spin out if you are not careful and responsible with the way you drive!

Common problems of my mustang 2018.
The most common problem I have with my car is a squeaking noises when turning the steering wheel, the problems lies with the outer tie rod ends, as they are worn and require replacement. For the over the coast and repair is to 139 a 196 $, and the magnet for the camshafts cause a damage to the nearby synchronizers.

It is a high energy fun vehicle to drive. Easily modified to increase performance and power. Fuel efficient with all the modern luxuries. Backup camera, heated steering wheel, heated and air conditioned seats are a few of the options I have. A very appealing car.

I love my mustang 2018 reviews
I love my mustang! It has amazing seats. Large trunk. It drives very smooth you have different options of changing to sport. The gas is efficient at least for me. It has a bit of a boost which I love. It's a fancy looking car that isn't that expensive.

Sleekness sport design exterior.
Transmission acts weird at times. Could do better on keeping the engine bay or windshield clean from debris, leaves, such as covering cracks opening crevices etc. More head space for rear seat passengers. A 4 door mustang would be nice or sedan mustang.

Quality car for the price. Good gas mileage and performance. Everyday drive.
Vehicle get amazing gas mileage and drives great. Lots of room but only for 2 people. You can't get a person in the back seat too tight of space. Interior is clean and detailed. Only thing I wish I would have done different is paid a little more and got the gt for the sound and performance.

Mustang ecoboost is a very fun eco friendly car.
It's really comfortable and performs well, it just has an ugly rear end in my opinion. The color I got is not the color I wanted but it is still a fun car to drive in my opinion. It goes really fast for a 4 cylinder car. The interior is also very nice and has a touch screen display.

That it is a solid, safe and dependable vehicle.
I like everything. It's a great car. It's very fast and good for racing. The only thing that could be better is the gas mileage..

It a so good looking vehicle. It is a racing model. My family members love it.
The problem of my vehicle is it has been use so much fuel. But it so comfortable and so good looking. It is so smooth to drive if someone drives it they will be crazy to buy that car. And it is a racing model. I love to drive that on the road. All the members of my family love the vehicle so much.

Shelby gt350 review great American muscle.
I have had no vehicle problems, the vehicle is very comfortable and fast. The only downside is the maintenance cost tires are very expensive. As long as you understand that then you will be okay. Insurance is not very much either which is super nice. I hope this is helpful,.

The 2018 mustang ecoboost is a good balance between performance and practicality.
The 2018 ford mustang ecoboost has a surprising amount of pep for a 4 cylinder engine. When using standard octane fuel the car averages 30 mpg. Switch to high octane, and the mileage drops down to around 26 but the launch from a red light becomes a lot more fun. The interior is comfortable and well designed though, as expected, the back seat is more for storage than passengers.

It's unbelievably fast for a mustang.
Brand new ford mustang recently bought, beautiful. I love the power it has and the way it rides. Nothing bad comes to mind from me thinking about it.

The 2018 ecoboost premium mustang review 2 years later.
The mustang is a fun car to drive overall. I have the ecoboost premium, and I only wish it had more power. That being said I am very impressed by the engine. It is easily the fastest car I have ever owned. The interior is nice but you can see ford thought about cost over quality of the materials used inside the vehicle.

The steering; the steering is solid.
The car is awesome, it is fast, it gives great mileage and it drives likes a charm. I never had any big issues with the car yet. I really like the car. My car has decent features which are standard on all new cars. Things like Bluetooth, backup camera etc...

Great car for muscle car lovers. Handling is great. Comfortable and sleek.
Great vehicle overall. Can perform very well in the winter with snow tires no problem. Has great handling and overall very comfortable as well. I love the interior looks very luxurious and sleek. Has many features such as heated steering wheel and lane detection. Has a handy rear view camera with warnings if you are too close.

2018 mustang gt premium performance pack.
I regret not getting the automatic transmission, other than that I love the car and have no complaints. It is, fast, stylish and comfortable. It is at home cruising downtown and curvy roads in the mountains. On the high the gas mileage is surprisingly good for a v8 sports car.

My car is simply amazing, I love it.
I have really had no problems with my car. Really love the acceleration, the style, the speed, and the tech. I love the digital dash and the nice big spoiler. I like the different drive modes and the fact I can change my exhaust at any time. The engine is huge and for an eight cylinder provides big power. Plus it was a really good deal.

Ford mustang American muscle baby!!
Performance is awesome. I bought used and had to reprogram the computer on shifting. I wiped it cleaned and the car learned my driving style and shifts a lot smoother. No comfort in this car! All American muscle! I wish I went with the manual instead of the 10 speed automatic.

An interesting detail is that on the steering wheel it has paddle shifters.
The pros to my vehicle is that it is a reliable car I haven't had any maintenance issues so far, it runs smoothly and even includes sports mode. Some cons to the vehicle might be the gas since it does waste a lot of gas. Or maybe the space inside the car some people who tend to have multiple people in the car might not prefer this car since it is a two door only. And the back seats are very compressed.

The speed and pickup of the car is terrific.
It looks great and has a lot of speed. Passing other cars like they are standing still. The inside is very roomy and has storage space for grocery shopping. And it is very easy to drive. People really like the way it looks. The upkeep of the car is very minimal.
accountCircle Jazmin T on October 6, 2020
The color is really cool.
I enjoy utilizing the vehicle. It is a smooth ride. The new cars have great padding, which is protective. I am constantly in awe of the snazzy appearance of the vehicle. I like the truck space and the lights that shine on the ground from the two front doors are neat-o.

Spectacular engine, the comfort of It's interior and the finish of the paint.
It is a vehicle without any problems, it has a spectacular engine with a lot of performance, the interior is quite comfortable and comfortable, it is an excellent car, the paint is very nice, it is perfect with the car and also has a ventilation and safety system like the ones airbags.

This car is great for people who do not need a lot of seating.
I love this car very comfortable and has everything I am looking for. Has a large amount of trunk space which is nice. I wouldn't recommend this car if you need a lot of seating. The back is a tight squeeze. This car is great for people who like sports cars.
accountCircle Britani A on September 14, 2020
What I like my car is the way it looks, the quickness and front seats.
Constant issues with engine, brakes, tires, interior front two seats are comfy but the back seats are horrible, traction system is awful, computer system always requires updates, turbo is quick, tugs when shifting, like interior, reliability scale 1-5 I give it a 2 because I am already having problems at only 45,000 miles.
accountCircle Janet C on September 8, 2020
Try a mustang you will absolutely love it.
I have trouble with the defrosters clearing off moisture. I love the ability of the car to get out and pass slow vehicles on the road. It is really sporty looking and has all the conveniences on the interior. The on screen helps with reverse and the telephone is easy to use in the vehicle.
