Mini cooper convertible-fun and sporty.
I like this car because it is small and sporty. The heated leather seats are amazing during the winter and early mornings. It handles very well in the summer months making it a fun car to drive. I have a convertible so it is nice to Cruise with the top down when it is nice outside. It gets amazing gas mileage-I can go for almost two weeks on one tank of gas to work and home. It is very reliable. I have had it for 4 years and with, routine maintenance, it has not broken down on me yet! Now for the issues I have with the car. It is very light so during the rainy season here in the great paw, my car is less fun to drive. Because it is so light it hydroplanes in the heavy rains we get here and freeway driving can feel dangerous. I have not and will never try to drive it in the snow. I have tried to get better tires but this did not make the car less likely to hydroplane. Other than the winter driving worries, this car is fun and sporty and great on gas. I recommend for areas without rain or snow though!

Mini Coopers - the car that lasts.
I love my Mini Cooper. I have had zero to no problems with it since it was purchase in used in 2011 (it is a 2006 model). It drives well, and just got to about 100, 000 miles. Even with that many miles, it is still a great car! One thing I love about it is the compactness, which is great for parallel parking in the city.

Fun car to drive but everything is mini.. Including the dash buttons.
I like the performance of the car. It handles very well. Everything on the dash is too small however. It is difficult to tell what each button does. The front headlight works intermittently and no one can figure out what is wrong with it. The car is comfortable to drive. The heater and air conditioner take a while to work. The heater works best if you are driving on the freeway. The radio is less to be desired.

Mini coopers—a fun car to drive with minimal costs to maintain.
Sporty; nice interior, great sound system, run flat tires, excellent gas mileage; 6 speed manual transmission, hatchback with panoramic moonroof, metallic blue with white racing stripes. Decent insurance rates with only regular maintenance costs. Replaced clutch, oil changes, and tires.

I really love the classic look. Although it is a 2006.
Absolutely a pleasure to drive. Safe, handles the road well. I drive windee highways through the mountains and I couldn't own a better vehicle. It is surprisingly roomy inside. Although it is a 2006 the exterior has held up and sometimes people ask if I have a new paint job.

Fun on wheels! A joy to drive and look at. Makes driving an adventure.
It's a joy to drive. It rides low, which I love, but its bumpy on rough roads. Handles like a true sports car. Not big enough for a large family, but great for a 2-3 person family. Beautiful paint job, sporty headlights. Great convertible top, with built in sunroof, if preferred.

The best thing about this car is the supercharged power and still gets good gas.
My mini comes with a supercharger that makes it very fun to drive great handling very good gas mileage you can see out in all directions has aircon great stereo and great power and large doors to make it easy to get in and out all the controls are easy to reach.

It's a classic that will never to out of style. There are endless ways to modify and personalize them.
It's fun to drive. Great performance for the money. The quality of interior is cheaply made.

I love my Mini Cooper S and Proudly pay the expense of having one
Expensive on repair but your driving a BMW. Few performance problems. Even when vehicle encounters a problem it still performs with excellence. Lots of room and exceptionally comfortable. Plenty of power to get you through every day driving or a day at the race track. Couple holders don't exist in my car which can at times be difficult. Accessories can be hard to find if you have a vehicle that was produced the year before it came out as they tend to differ from the vehicles made during the year of release.

It is an adorable little car!
I love my car so much. The only thing I don't really like about it is the cupholders. They are placed in very impractical places and some are not large enough to hold most cups.
accountCircle Gi G on August 10, 2020
Don't underestimate its small size for not being roomy on the inside.
I love the color of my car because that color is no longer available. My car is small but fast. I feel like I am in The Italian Job when I drive it.

Mini cooper—a fun ride around town!
Little maintenance; good gas mileage, lots of extras—panoramic moonroof, heated seats, six speed manual transmission, hatchback, great sound system, metallic blue with white racing stripes. Comfortable car with lots of pep; however, not much cargo storage.

Mini Coopers are a little finicky, require synthetic oil changes and premium fuel, but in return they last a long time.
I've had my car for over a decade and it has been a reliable and fun vehicle. I absolutely love it.

Costly repairs and fairly difficult to find a reputable repairman.
Great city car, fits in almost any space. Alleviating the need to circle the block a million times. Overall stylish and cool features, however with style comes cost. Repairs on this car are very expensive and seem to come up on a regular basis. Would advise to buy this car brand new as a used model will become very costly to repair.

The main issue with the mini cooper is the lack of comfort.
The mini cooper is a great car, though does come with some issues. The main issue is the lack of space in the vehicle, even in the driver's seat. When driving the car, my knees are too close to the wheel and the pedals are too close together, making it uncomfortable to drive. There is simply not enough space in the car fortwo backseat passengers unless they happen to be small children. The fuel gauge is an unconventional design making it difficult to measure how much gas is left.

My car is a manual manual transmission so be aware
It's too small. I love the manual transmission, it gets great gas mileage and I have had almost no problems with it

My fun to drive for all ages Mini Cooper Convertible.
My Mini is a convertible which is automatic a 5 speed transmission and has had very little work done to it. The maintenance has been kept up since it was bought new and I have all the records. It is very economical and is comfortable and fun to drive. It has push button windows, locks and trunk hatch and has a great stereo system.
accountCircle Bridge E on March 24, 2020
It is impossible to roll down the passenger side window from the driver's seat.
Likes: it drives and handles really well. It's cute and fun..... Dislike: my particular year/model has electrical issues and that has been a little inconvenient..

Great car fun to drive can use as manual or automatic
It is a great car and fun to drive. The bolt that has to release the oil change thing will sometimes break if righted to tight. Gas is expensive not that great gas mileage. There are a lot of places that won't change the oil or touch anything on car because it's foreign.

Safety/Power
We just bought a 2006 Mini Cooper S with the Sports package and it is impressive. IT drive like a bat out of hell and although it's handling is determined by it's size which is a little bumper and even harsh at times, it handles much like any other sport car, firm to it's feet and corners like a snake.
accountCircle Clark J on January 31, 2020
The Mini is a great car when it isn't broken.
The engine just blew at 122,000. Not reliable at all. It is very fun to drive when it is rung though.

Fun to drive with the top up or down!
No true repair jobs needed until over 85, 000 miles. She has 107, 000 miles now and is still great looking and has good performance.

06 Cooper S
Bought this car with 130,000miles and ive added 30,000 miles on it. Car is extremely reliable, I've had 1 hickup the alternator died. Super fun to drive 6 speed manual with supercharger. I'd recommend this car to anyone that likes to whip around corners with a smile on there face! Good on gas as well! Saving me a fortune compared to daily driving a 3/4 ton truck.u fortunitly 06 is the last of the supercharger and will NOT be buying an oversized looking mini with a turbo. Took a 2012 mini cooper for a test drive, its overweight lacks the uniqueness in looks and the manual trans felt sloppy and un-sporty. Very disappointed in newer models. R53 minis for ever!

If it weren't for the squirrels and mn winters, I would keep it.
I love my car but it is time to trade it in for one that is AWD since I have to drive in mn winters now. I am looking to trade mine in for a loaner vehicle since the mini dealership has some really good deals on those. There have been a couple of issues such as the red squirrels gnawing through the electrical wiring which affected my temperature readings (-40 f consistently).

That it is Great on gas and super cute! But if you want more than 3 people in it it is Not a good idea
I love my Mini Cooper because it is Different and stands out. I also like it because it is really good on gas and easy to drive, park, and maneuver. I dislike it a Little more now because I am not able to have many people ride with me.

My first car is great and deceiving.
The mini cooper is very reliable and actually quite large despite its appearance. It drives well and is very attractive to the eye. It sucks to drive in the winter the. But it is a great first car. I really love it and so does everyone who drives it in my family.
accountCircle Greg B on November 23, 2019
Looks cool, but is expensive to run/maintain.
The car is small, which is great. However, it is hard to work on, and expensive to fix. It gets poor gas mileage.

Mini is the only car to own if you truly enjoy life!
My Mini has been absolutely the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have over 100,000 miles on it now and it still drives and runs awesome. It is such a joy to drive. It puts a smile on my face every time I get in it. It's quick and sporty. Handles amazingly. When I drive it feels like a part of me. I have had no real issues with it mechanically other then regular wear and tear. There have been only two disappointments. The first is with the passenger airbag sensor not working since pretty much day one. It was recalled and even after a few replacements it still has failed. The second is the convertible roof failing and the rear window falling out. It is a very big expense to replace the top. I no longer go to the dealership for any service since the warranty has long since expired. The dealership prices are way too expensive. The one dealer that I did use while still under warranty was very nice and professional. I would highly recommend a Mini if you love to drive. I will always drive a Mini from now on. Hopefully the one I have lasts at least another 100,000. Miles
accountCircle Erica O on September 24, 2019
Its my mini! I really enjoy it.
I've read and experiences that transmission after 100k miles goes out. The headline sags in this and previous years. This model at very least in my opinion is very noisy to drive. I would buy a newer version of this car if I could afford it. I think they are overpriced for the amount of mileage you can get from them after 100k on the engine and or transmission.
accountCircle Kent S on August 23, 2019
It's a good, reliable car if you take care of it, but it does have a high cost of ownership, so be prepared for that.
I love the body, power, and handling it has, and how sleek the interior is. The suspension is a little rough, but that's to be expected in exchange for the superb handling. However, it does have terrible fuel economy; almost as bad as a V8 truck I used to have. It's also very expensive to maintain and repair.
accountCircle Alex C on August 20, 2019
Very great car. Make sure to keep it mint.
The early-2000s cooper s also drives better, thanks to a zippy supercharged engine, great steering, and willing chassis. Compared to the standard cooper, supercharging created some packaging issues, requiring the battery to be relocated to the trunk and removing the spare tire.
accountCircle Laura M on August 16, 2019
It is like driving a cloud. I do not have to fill the tank much.
It is fun to drive, manual transmission, sporty and fuel efficient. It is also great for city driving as easy to park and rural driving as it is fun to drive on windy roads. And most of all I like that it is paid for.
accountCircle Abby W on August 11, 2019
Do not buy one until you understand the problems that the car inherently has.
I like how cute it is. I also like that it is front wheel drive so I can drive it in the snow. However, they're expensive cars to keep. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth the trouble of maintenance.

Mini Cooper is way small and not safe to drive with kids!
Too small. It is not driving friendly, not safe on freeways. I can't take my kids to their kindergarten and not feel very safe. I would need something more comfortable and more car safety so called. I do like how it looks, but it needs more features like the new cars have. More automatic and radio is not good.

If you think you want a mini cooper, than you would probably like it a lot.
The 2006 mini cooper is a great vehicle. It is fun to drive around and easy to park. The negatives are that the volume knob for the radio broke off and every time I turn the car off it makes this loud noise as it cools down.
accountCircle Jenifer H on June 23, 2019
A mini cooper makes commuting fun and will save you money on gas.
I like that it is fuel efficient, fast, and handles the road well. I do not like that the suspension is very rigid and it is not very big.

She's convertible, reliable and economical to drive. I wish she was newer but I love to drive her with the top down .She is a beast, very dependable.

My car is fuel efficient. It is fun to drive. My car is fast. It does not have the best suspension and no spare tire so I don't like to drive it on long road trips.

A MINI Cooper manual transmission is fun to drive!
My Mini is fun to drive, handles well, and has very good gas mileage. It is a manual transmission, which is fun to use in the flat terrain on which I live. I wish the seat raised up a bit higher. I also wish it was newer, but I can't afford a newer car.

Happy owner of a 2006 mini cooper s.
We love the reliability of our mini. It has been a great car to own. We do not drive many miles, but the car gets great gas mileage and has maintained its sporty look and newer feel for many years.

Dealership service department.
Has been fairly reliable. I had to replace the oil pan due to an anticipated leak. I appealed to the dealership and was refunded. Because the car is basically a BMW, all repairs are too expensive. There’s a big turnover of service representatives at the dealership.
