Love this car overall. My only complaint is how it handles in the snow. Highly recommend snow tires in the winter. Comfortable and fun to drive.

Good car good gas mileage.
Good road and travel performance. Also gives good gas mileage even with only having to use premium gas. Maintenance could be pricey at times but I use a another dealership that specializes in foreign cars for a much affordable price.

I like that the car drives very smooth. The leather seats and cool ac makes it enjoyable during the summer. It is also great on gas to make it to all destinations.

2008 Volkswagen Passat - Consumer Review
Great car! Low cost of ownership, fast, handles well, good gas mileage. Very European firm ride however. I put 165,000 of the 200,000 miles on it. Runs like the day I bought it. I guess I got a good one!

Love the room of the hatchback. Love the leather seats because easy to clean. The gas mileage could be better though.
It is a fantastic car for someone who wants more room than a normal car. I've across the country a couple times in it.

Very great car excellent on gas

Practical family car that meets the needs of your family.
Overall I like this vehicle and the features it provides. The one thing I don't like is the headlight went out and to get it fixed was very costly because it was more of a electrical problem than mechanic. The part to replace was $600 in order to have headlight fixed. Other than that it is a good car.

Large luxury feeling wagon
The valve body is cracked and sometimes causes it to slam into second gear. But outside of that it has been very reliable and enjoyable vehicle to own and drive. Especially like the tan leather and the aux input. The cargo area in the back is one of the largest I've found in a modern station wagon

I love the leather seats and the heated seats are a lifesaver in the winter.
It's a great, solid, easy to drive vehicle. The rear window keeps coming off it's tracks and there's a weird glitch with the sunroof where it will open and close on its own, but other than that I really love this car. It's just as easy to drive in the city as it is on the freeway and there is lots of trunk space.

VW Passat, 2008.20t. If I could another one of equal condition I would buy it.
I love my Passat, it sporty, comfortable, great on gas. I purchased it over five years ago with 75, 000 miles on it and now have over 150, 000. The only repair I have had to make was a water pump and timing chain at around 145, 000.

Burns oil like crazy, like 1 quart per 1000 miles.
Drives like a champ even with 185k miles on it. Seat has never been quite comfortable. Paint took a beating one winter and is rusting now.

Very few features. No Bluetooth, no handsfree. Issues with muffler system, great engine and great handling. Good looking car. People stare. A German car is a German car. It is a dependable and reliable vehicle.

Spacious and Reliable Car
The passat is spacious and comfortable. I like that the trunk is big. The blower is a little loud when you turn the heat/ac up to 4. Solid car, haven't had much trouble with my vw's.

Bought this vehicle used. It had been great. Outside of regular wear and tear I have had no major issues. Regular oil change bought new tires and that is literally about it. One inconvenience would. I have to buy the most expensive gas cause it had a turbo engine, also I can only get the oil changed at the dealership, no one else carries the filter. Considering my next purchase soon, will definitely be another Volkswagen.

VW passat wagon. Streamlined and functional.
Love this car. No real problems... . Very reliable. It also holds five people no problem plus it has storage n the back. Also has roof . Racks. I like how it looks also. Even though it is a 2008, it still looks modern. It also handles like a smaller car.

I think this car is very reliable and comfortable. It can be expensive if something goes wrong or breaks because Volkswagens only use their own parts, but I think it is worth it because their cars last forever from what I have seen. It has a lot of leg space and is perfect for traveling long distances.

It is very easy to start going fast without realizing it.
I like the seats that are adjustable and can be preset for different drivers. I like how the headlights turn when you make a turn while driving. And I like the sunroof that you can adjust according to your preference and that you can lay the backseat down for more space if needed. So far I do not like dislike anything about this car.

The best vehicle I ever owned
I have no problems with this vehicle. It drives really fast and smooth, and is loaded with options. It currently has 200,000 miles on it. I have had it for 6 months and all it needed was an oil change. If you take care of routine maintenance this car will last way past 200,000 miles

Serves well for a small family as well as a working professional.
One of the windows started to make really noisy sounds when going up and down. There was some leakage of water when it rained really hard one time. Took it to the 4s repair and they couldn't find much of a problem. The car is sufficiently comfortable.

Overall I love my Passat and would tell anyone looking one to buy it.

Very peppy with turbo engine.
Really not many problems. Fan for engine stopped working several times but was repaired. Turbo gives it great acceleration. Air conditioning was repaired once in 10 years. Overall very pleased with reliability of this vehicle. Paint is not great on front hood. Lived in desert with lots of blowing dust and rocks. Many pits in paint.

For a wagon, it's really fun to drive.
Love the roominess of the interior. Love the drive feel of the car. Nice looking exterior. Dislike the way the windshield is curved which causes bad glare when the sun is a at a certain height. Dislike the repair charges. Expensive.

Quiet, expensive, comfortable
My Volkswagen Passat is very expensive to maintain. The parts are expensive and it is difficult to try to do repairs myself. The parts are also unreliable. Aside from that the car is comfortable, quiet and sporty. It drives very nice and is a good looking car.

Volkswagen Passat review: overall great mileage and great highway mileage.
The mileage in the city is absolutely terrible but great on the highway. I don't really have many problems with my car. The insurance may be higher because it is a foreign vehicle. I travel quite a bit, so I have to constantly put oil in my car. My windshield wiper fluid no longer will work for some reason.

Great mpg and fun to drive.
When I first purchased(was used) the timing chain broke and the engine was toast. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty and it did not cost me anything (and the dealership I purchased from does not service the car and they were driving it when it happened). They somehow put a hole in the oil exchanger and that cost me over $1000. I am getting 28. 1 mpg and I live in vt will hilly terrain so am impressed with that. Car is zippy and has good performance in snow as well. Does not wear tires and I like the fact that when you need an oil change the car tells you so. Wish that if a tire is low it did not just say low tire but tell you which one like the Volvo did.

The good, bad and ugly of the 2008 VW Passat.
It is a sporty car with turbo charged that really accelerates. It does have issues with headlamps burning out sooner than most cars and it also seems to go through coil packs go out more frequently than other year of Passat. It is a very comfortable ride with a lot of luxury amenities that are included as standard package. The last con of this year and model is it uses oil. It will burn about a quart every 1200 miles and has since it was new. Dealership said it has to do with the turbo making the engine run hotter. Overall, it is a great car. Fun to drive and handles superbly.

Volkswagen Passat has a great look comfortable and is great on gas mileage. .
It's very comfortable great on gas perform well over long distance. . No mechanical problems so far. . Having some problems with the air conditioner unit blows hot air only on drivers side. . Door lock not working on drivers cost over $300 just to replace. .
